Weights for hanging

I had a quick questions. What kind of weights does everyone use to hang? What kind of rope do you use to hold it? Thanks.

I just used an old set of free weights sitting in my basement. 3 lb and 5 lbs were what I grabbed at first. I also used an old belt that I had lying in the closet. I liked the belt cause it was locable and I suck at tying knots.

If you are short on cash, ask a relative, they could have a whole shit load of weights sitting in some corner of their basements or garages. Yard or garage sales are also not too bad, as well as flea markets. If not Wal_mart, the Sports Authority, Sears, a fitness store will have them.

I recommend you don’t overlook some of the smaller weights when you buy them. 1, 2, 3, & 5’s are always forgotten. Sure maybe a single 20lb and two 10 lb everyone remembers, but you have to start light, real light as a matter of fact in the VERY beginning. Plus the low poundage ones are the best when you feel you should go up in weight, but try a wee bit first, you can always add if it is no problem.

I use 3 diving wgts (4 lbs each) as a base, taped together with black electrical tape.

I have a nylon strap threaded thru the wgts (they’re made to go on your diving belt) in an inverted “T” loop that lets me then add plate wgts on top of the diving wgt base.

The -S- hook of my bib hooks the top of the loop.
