Interesting, how can you use cable clamps as a hanger ?
I should remind newbies that hanging is an advanced exercise and there are serious risks. Read other hanging posts first before going down this path.
With that said, my setup is kind of like a poor man’s Captn’s Wench. The Captn’s Wench is already pretty affordable, but I was too cheap and lazy to go to the store so I made do with what I had laying around: just some self-adherent wrap tape for both the wrap and the hanging strap, a strip of an old mousepad for padding, and two cable clamps. It works for me, but it probably isn’t for everyone.
First I put about 4-5 layers of the wrap tape around the shaft just below the glans. I try to get all the way to edge of the glans, but not on the glans. Then the strip of mousepad over that, with a small gap on the underside of the shaft. Then anything you want to use for the hanging strap, I use a doubled up piece of the wrap tape, running from one side, over the tip, and to the other side. Now clamp all of that together. The hinges of the clamps fit into the gap in the mousepad on the underside of the shaft. I recently added a cardboard tube from the wrap tape to the hanging strap, the strap runs thru the tube and the weights hang off of the tube; that helps keep the strap from squishing the sides of the glans. When I apply the first clamp I place it just a little away from the glans then kegel and squeeze to partially inflate the glans before clamping down. There’s a balance that needs to be found here, too much pressure and you will get spots on your glans, too little pressure and you might have slippage at heavier weights. The second clamp is placed closer to the body, and is just there to make sure the strap doesn’t slip.
