7x8.25 megallophallus had reduction surgery

Hey guys,

just something I saw when I was doing some research about priapism. For those who do not know what priapism is: It is a long-lasting penile erection without sexual stimulation, caused by malfunction of the body (several reasons possible, anyone interested in details, type in priapism in pubmed) which hurts and leads to ED often. Priapism sometimes leads to a dick beyond normal size, called megalophallus.

I found a paper where a guy had a reduction of, as they say, "mildly engorged" 18x21 cm (7x8.25 in) megalophallus to a 18x15 cm (7x6 in).

That’s the operative, excuse me, phrase.

The patient had to have a penile prosthesis installed in order to decrease his size so that he could have normal sex. There is currently no other reduction procedure appropriate to the penis which also allows for good erectile function afterward. And, these prosthesis placements always result in a loss of penis size.

I swear I do not understand why some of you guys think priapism might be a good way to make gains.

Because some in some cases of priapisms, sexual function is retained and permanant enlargement occurs.
