The attachments of the crura to the anchor points in the pelvis may get stretched and pulled but they never (or should never) break away. That would be a medical emergency. Note that these anchor points are highly stressed only when doing high angle hanging. Low angle (SD or BTC) hanging stresses them barely or not at all.

Yes, you can confirm this by tracing your CCs all the way back to the pelvic anchor points during an erection. The elongation of the inner portions of the penis is largely responsible for the high erection angle many guys have. Erection causes the penis to push forward. As it does this, the shaft pulls against the suspensory ligament, causing the lig to wrap up the face of the pubic symphysis and drawing the shaft upwards along with it. That’s my theory of how it works, anyway.
