I’ve had the same concerns, as I recently posted. I too lost ~.25” from side to top measurement. Of course, any method used and reported here, is going to be subject to the “honor system.” Any of us can jiggle things to squeeze some extra “length” from measurement, and of course we can simply LIE about it here ;-) That said, I truly believe that most of us are being honest and seeking a reliable honest measurement.
Some time back, someone posted about using a cardboard tube, like a paper towel roll. A lengthwise slit would be made and measurements marked on it. I have not tried this, but I did get a (cheap) pump which has a clear cylinder and ruled markings. I haven’t tried it in a while, but I will do so and compare.
Bottom line is, I believe some type of cylinder pressed into pubic area would most closely represent the “Vaginally Useful Length” or VUL. This length should be somewhere between NBP and BP ruler measurements, as the cylinder can be bone-pressed but not as far as the ruler end. I will test this tonight if possible.
One other variable factor is the angle at which we view the ruler or other measuring device. Because our glans are curved, it is somewhat similar to trying to measure the diameter of a ball with a straight ruler. One solution that occurs to me is to make a cylinder with a sliding insert, kind of like the “push up” popsicles if you will, or like the caulking tubes used in caulk guns. The tip of your dick would push this flat, sliding insert which should give you the most accurate, repeatable measurements.
hmmm…. maybe I can design & build an inexpensive device, the “Penis Tracker” and everyone can buy one & know exactly how we stack up against each other ;-) Of course, would have to make a super-size DLD/BIB model……
(note: just thought VUL sounded cool, not to disrespect other bodily orifices ;-)
