I’ve been out of the game for two month with an eczema and candidiasis infection. I bought a 250watt heat lamp a week ago and I am finally able to use it today. I used it for fifteen minutes about seventeen inches away from my body before I did my jelq routine, it seems very effective. My first question is—is it ok to do two sessions in one day with an infared heat lamp, or should I just do one and then use the ole trusty rice sock for the second session? And secondly, would it be safe to move the lamp twelve inches away instead of seventeen inches because I feel like I could take quite a bit more heat?

Note: I noticed real quick that infared light is very reflective, because my eyes became slighty irritated from constantly glancing down. Next time I’m going to wear some shades and look up.

I don’t think infrared light is as hard on your eyes as UV, but sunshades wouldn’t hurt. Neither could be any worse on your eyes than Viagra. Hell, ten years from now we’ll probably all be blind from edging anyway.

BDS: yes, it’s fine to move an IR light as close to yourself as is comfortable. There are no harmful rays. I use it at about 12 inches, throughout my workout, and as many times a day as I wish. Sometimes, my dick skin gets irritated and rashy from the heat, but I put lotion on and it goes away in a day.

In what way could you tell that it was effective? I bought one recently too, but see little result for my stubborn girth.

IR heat seems to really get down to the ligs. After doing a jelq session I got a good stretch, and my flaccid hang was better.

I didn’t care for the lamp at first, and still don’t like it for hanging. I’ve been using it for a few weeks as a warmup for manual stretching. Now that I have it adjusted so it doesn’t blind me I’m becoming a fan.

I fold an old t-shirt in half and put it over my lap with my dick sticking out. I haven’t measured distance from the bulb. Probably about 10”. I’m using a 250w white bulb. My bulb and reflector don’t put out light evenly. There is a duller spot in the middle, so I try to keep my dick in the more intense outer edge. I have to move my dick frequently. I warm the top for a while, then pull it up or to one side or the other. Gets pretty toasty.

I’ve been incorporating it something like this:

10 min. heat
5 min. stretch
5 min. heat
5 min. stretch
5 min. heat
5-10 min. stretch

I’m thinking of making a ball protector out of a space blanket. The shirt works when seated if wadded up enough, but I’d like to try keeping the heat on while standing. I don’t want to cook my nuts.

Okay, I’ll pay attention and see if that’s true for me too.

Come to think of it, I did measure an extra 0.1” SBPFL (8.0” - yoo-hoo!) a few times after IR jelquing.

When I went to Walmart I almost bought the white bulb but decided to go with the red. After reading your post it dawned on me that my inner thighs get hotter than my groin area and I thought that my bulb might have a dull spot also, but after turning my lamp back on and visually checking it out and slowly running my hands back and forth across the bulb I’m pretty sure that the light/heat is distributed evenly and that my inner thighs are just more sensitive. Earlier today I sat under the lamp for 15 minutes at 12 inches away and it was comfortable ‘after’ I wrapped a tshirt around each thigh. The reflector that I use is a metal eight inch wide contractor/painters type deal with a clamp on it.

For a ball protector I use black electrical tape. I took eight pieces about four or five inches long and stuck them toghether side by side. It conforms/sticks to my sack well and pulls off very easy after ten or fifteen minutes under the lamp, and can be reused.
