Ballerinas, contortionists, etc.
Ballerinas spend their entire careers stretching like crazy and becoming ten times more flexible than any normal human. I realize they are stretching tendons. Now I’d like to know how exactly tendons are different from ligaments. They obviously don’t seem to have any problems with becoming too tough , conditioned, calcified, etc — they just get more and more limber. What is it about ligaments that would make them react differently to being stretched out?
