Collagen cream and PE

Collagen cream and PE

I’ve been wondering for some time about the possible efficacy of a collagen cream applied to PE exercises.

In the last two years there’s been a remarkable diffusion of collagen-based creams for skin care, mostly wrinkle fillers. Now a wide range of similar products can be found even in most supermarkets.
If an important part of PE gains can be due to new collagen forming in the microtears, then a collagen cream coupled to a PE routine could highly speed up the cell grow.
Biggest downside, these creams are usually rather expensive.

Have anyone tried something similar? What would you think?

Probably a good addition to any PE regimen

Now: NBPEL = 6.4 MSEG = 5.3 BEG = 5.75

Goals: NBPEL = 7.0 MSEG = 6.0

I’ve experimented with creams and hydrolyzed solutions on the basis of collagen, elastin and vitamins (A, B, D, K).

Any of those help the skin recover a lot faster than without any ointment at all. They work great against blisters, bruises and discolouration of skin tissue. But don’t expect miracles for the growth process.

Come one. Really?

I think it makes sense that collagen would strengthen the connective tissue, thus hindering gains. When you’ve got an incredibly solid tunica like I do, anything strengthening connective tissue is something to avoid, in my opinion.

I'm a disciple of science.

I think you would want something that encourages elastin formation.

I'm a big fan of 50 Cent, or as we call him in Zimbabwe, four hundred million dollars.

The cheapest and what I found most efficient treatment is elastin. Get your hands on elastin, which comes as yellowish powder, and get some distilled water. You should be able to purchase both in large enough quantities for very little money.

Use a small receptacle (10-20ml) to mix in a preferred concentration (up to 1g elastin on 10 ml pure water). Shake properly, wait for about 5-10 mins to thoroughly dissolve, ready to go. Best applied after a shower or bath when the skin is still warm and the pores receptive. Store the solution in a cool place like your fridge for no longer than a week. Since the solution is just as liquid as water, a lot of it might just go off-target; so to make the solution more viscous, you can add a small quantity of hyaluronric acid, which comes as a white powder; the benefits are a more gel-like solution which nicely moisturizes your skin. The downsides of hyaluronric acid are it’s additional costs (it’s several times more expensive than elastin) and a shorter shelve life of the solution.

Can it reach the tunica ?

The best I could find was this:

Some experts in the skincare field claim that elastin creams cannot help prevent wrinkles since the molecules are typically too large to penetrate the skin. They claim that the best way to eliminate wrinkles and fine lines is to increase collagen and elastin naturally. One of the main ways to do so is to increase the amount of keratin in the diet, which can be done through the ingestion of iron-rich proteins, such as veal, fish, chicken, nuts, and beans, to name a few foods. Additionally, regular exercise can keep skin firm, helping retain its elasticity. A combination of these tips, as well as the use of moisturizing elastin creams, may be the best way to produce desirable results.

@Alin
I doubt it. But I can see an indirect benefit in the way that the sooner the skin has regenerated (instead of wearing the damage along several days) the faster and more efficient the tunica can be repaired.

@Salad
I don’t give too much on these writings in particular, even though they may be theoretically correct. I gave it a try. Applying (hydrolyzed) elastin or collagen on the skin boosts regeneration quite well, especially when applied on wet, warm skin.
If you do hold on the argument of restricted skin permeability - which undoubtedly holds true - another component to better permeate the skin is DMSO. For me, I experience remarkable results both with and without the DMSO added to the elastin solution.

I saw there are some discussions about DMSO, I wasn’t very interested it. So this DMSO, helps some substance reach further in the tissue ? not only the skin but beyond ?

To some extent, yes.
