Well, this situation is actually very good for both parties involved. An older man, who has more experience with women, makes a more patient lover. I know that I am a better lover than I was at age 20 or even 25, simply because I have more control over my own body.

My wife has a career and children and many other things in her life, sex is far from her number one priority. A young woman may be more receptive to sex in general, simply because of less commitment to other things in life.

I had the same thoughts. I was kinda worried about what her Dad might think or say, you know, being pissed off and such, but her parents were actually very calm about it. They told her that they believed in her judgement; to date an older guy.

It took awhile for all her friends and family to get used to the fact that she IS actually going out with someone who’s significantly older then her.

But to come to the point, jj2345, if my daughter would date an older guy, hey, what could I do about it? If it makes her happy and if the guy treats her right…why not?

What do young women get out of dating older guys?

I think that some of them need a “paternal” character to be attracted to.

I think some of them look at older guys as a good source of “no strings” sex.

Older guys are more likely to know how to please a woman.

Older guys are less likely to freak out and get jealous if she sneaks a peek at some hunk at the grocery store.

If they are smart they will look at a relationship with an older man as short term. (unless they are into caring for a man in his dotage when she is still sexually capable - a situation that forces her to either put up with frustration or cheat on him).

If my daughter went for an older guy I would hope that she would have the sense to just enjoy him for a time and not marry him.
