Did Xenolith ever post about the Omega Clamp

Agreed. This is exactly what I’m now trying to make corrective actions for. If we don’t see my instructions for construction +/- in-use photos from MM posted, I’ll at least re-create the former.

Well, Modesto Man has read my PM, but I’ve not received a reply and there’s no post of the info that I sent him; that’s OK, I don’t fauult or blame him for either. It would be remiss of me not to thank him for honoring my request to keep that info confidential…I do thank you MM. It’s best that I do this anyway. I had hoped that my description of the construction along with the photo would suffice; apparently not…quite understandable based on similar feedback 8 years ago. It’ll probably take until the weekend, but I’ll re-write the construction instructions and post them here.

OK, here goes…

1. cut a section of 1/4” diameter, solid core lead wire (find at fishing stores…used for making “slinkies”) in a length approximately coincident with your EG measured directly behind your coronal ridge.
2. insert lead wire section into a 3/8” diameter heat shrink wrap section that has been cut to length 1/2 inch longer than the lead wire section.
3. heat the heat shrink wrap, shrinking it around the lead wire section.
4. remove approximately 3 inches of foam tubing from a GripTwist; cut in half, yielding two 1.5 inch sections of foam tubing.
5. slide both sections of foam tubing onto heat shrink wrap lined lead wire, leaving a gap of approximately 1”-1.5” (depending on overall size of Omega Clamp that you are making) centered around the middle of the lead wire section.
6. wrap electrical tape around the arms of a pair of needlenose pliers and use the pliers to gently curve both ends of the lead wire section outward into a recumbant configuration (see photo for final configuration of ends).
7. place a 1/2” or 5/8” (depending on overall size of Omega Clamp that you are making) O-ring within the “crotch” of one of the recumbant ends; with the tape wound needlenose pliers, compress the end of the lead wire section with O-ring in it tight, enclosing and retaining the O-ring.
8. fashion a “handle” for O-ring out of whatever is handy…I use a a 5/8” section of safety pin wire shaped into a “s” with one half of the “s” around the O-ring and the half around a small rubber grommet.

That’s it.

Thanks. That’s an easier construction than I thought. So it’s quite weighty and pliable in itself.

You’re very welcome mem; I’m very happy to have finally honored my promise to post about it; so sorry that it took so long. Yes, the ductility of the 1/4” lead wire is just perfect for compressing the CCs behind the coronal ridge once the O-ring is clasped acroos the top of the clamp.. The neat thing is that neither the ventral or the dorsal areas are compressed, so the dorsal nerves aren’t affected nor is the CS and the urethra within it…only ADS that I know of that one can pee with while wearing.

To add some fun, I’ll mail a New Old Stock (never used :) ) HTW (picture of the item up for grabs below) to the first person that posts a picture of their Omega Clamp that they built. The genuine original HTW, scunci model 17906-A, is no longer available anywhere…it’s still the best wrap ever imo. Good Luck!

Sorry this has been a long time coming. It took some digging to find the photos, but here is the first batch.

I built an omega clamp and used it for a while. I was able to get it to work, but only for short periods of time. I believe my limit was about 1 hour before I started feeling a strong urge to remove it—probably due to compromised circulation. I remember Xeno saying he could wear his for hours at a stretch (pun intended), so maybe it’s an individual thing. The only ADS I was ever able to wear for long periods was a vacuum ADS. The trick with those is making them compact. It’s doable, but it helps to be handy.

I did like the compactness of the omega clamp. It was not quite invisible in clothes, but close—especially in the around-the-waist configuration if you wear a long, baggy teeshirt. I never felt comfortable wearing an ADS in public and don’t recommend it.

Maybe there’s a tension element in there too.

Thanks for posting those Modesto, ahh memories. Sorry to learn that the OC didn’t work as well for you as it did for me (no longer use it, but still consider it the ideal ads) just trying to help, you know. The key to making it wearable, shoot around the clock was no problem for me, was having it loose with the HTW wrapped over the OC…much of the OC retention was accomplished by the wrapped over HTW. I’d offer custom fitting services, but, uh, that’d just be weird :) .
