Do you have to order the zinc? Is there anyplace I could get it?

I doubt that you will find pure zinc rods at Home depot. Never seen it.

You could try to find the zinc in marine supply houses, since the one that Mcmaster sells is actually a corrosion inhibitor zinc rod, used as sacrificial material to protect other metal component on a boat against corrosion.

The most important thing is that it must be as pure as possible 99.5% or better.

Maybe HJ can sell you some of his left over.zinc and copper.

Just let me know if you cannot find the zinc and I will try other ways to help you build one.

No, it shouldn’t matter. I like wearing mine a few days with the zinc on the left, and a few days on the right…just is case. The displacement of electrons is always from the zinc to the copper.

I already have a system of switching sides. If it’s an Odd day, the cOppeR goes on the Right. I forget things too quickly.

I feel nothing when it is completely dry…it needs to stay damp…has anyone tried a moisturizer or anything like that to keep it moist? When it’s moist, I do feel a little “twinge” that keeps me at about 25%…

Yes, I felt exactly the same as you did wearing it only for the first 48 hrs. It does work and it was not my imagination either. Be happy.

You will need moisture (or should I say, a salt bridge) in order for the zinger to produce electrical current. This will happen naturally under normal wear during the day. Of course, when your balls are dry, no electrical current will be produced. I have not used a moisturiser, but I think that you may be also introducing oils and emollient that may interfere with the metal contacting your skin. I will just let it be natural.

Ok where do you get the pure metal and hose supllies to build this zinger?

There’s a post from moth in the original thread saying that he used calendula gel, a homeopathic remedy. I also happened to have some. It keeps the area moist for quite a while.

How much is ‘a massive amount’? Decided to try it and made one with 3” long pieces of cu and zn, the length of the McMaster zinc rods. I haven’t lit up yet; maybe later.

Hey cyber, you can get the stuff online from McMaster, as listed in Tom’s site (at the bottom of this site), and the latex tubing from any medical supply house. However, if you find it too bothersome to shop around, let me know and I will supply what you need to build one yourself.
