Somebody got a bit too happy here. There is a huge black cloud of smoke in the sky about a mile or two from my front door.

Just saw that gprent. No idea what it is, but it is not smoke from the Payson fire, that’s for sure.

I can’t believe how many explosions are going off here - firecrackers, M-80s, M-250s, bottle rockets, Roman Candles, etc., etc. And the shit here (Pennsylvania) is illegal; most make the trek to Ohio to buy whatever the hell you want - even huge fireworks are legal there. But the cops aren’t even coming around. There’s like 3-4 blasts and screaming shrieks into the sky every few seconds, for more than 2 hours now. Sounds like freakin’ Baghdad outside. I was sitting on my back porch a while ago, where it’s nice & cool out, but I heard what sounded like small arms fire. Sure enough, I could hear cracks & snaps and ricochets through the tree tops, so I got my ass back inside.

Hey Wad, you post is hilarious for this reason. I live in western NY and I annually drive down to the Pennsylvania to purchase my fireworks. Fireworks are illegal in NY too. So we New Yorkers purchase them there in PA right off the Thuway. For fifteen years or more, you have to show an out of state ID before they will sell you anything in those shops. Now I know why, there illegal there too. They can sell them to us out-of-towners, yet they cannot sell them to you.

So basically its like this:

New York residents buy fireworks from Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania residents buy fireworks from Ohio.
And Ohio residents probaly buy theres in Kentucky.
