The sad truth is that the only effective method of protecting your images is a watermark. The copyright stuff works ok if the host/ service provider is responsive. Long term you can fight it legally, but even if they fold & give up, someone else can do the same thing the next day on a different site.

I hate watermarking images, but its the only way to effectively prevent image theft. They can try & remove the watermark, but then it makes it easy to prove they stole the image.
