Improving the world of PE knowledge

Improving the world of PE knowledge

After having been present on these forums for many years (on and off, and not so active), I have recently thought about what we could do to improve the quality of the way we access and transmit knowledge related to PE.

Hence, I have been thinking about and refining two ideas for some weeks now, and I’d like to share them with everyone. Both of them would translate into projects that would require some serious work on our behalf, but would also bring great benefits.

I. Creating digests for the most valuable threads

We all have come across great threads that we found truly enlightening. I believe that, along the years, many, many such threads have accumulated - some of them becoming what I like to call "classic threads".
However, since time is a (more or less) limited resource, it may take a very long time to go through some threads that are tens of pages long.
Disadvantages of this:
1. One might miss seeing the forest from the trees, especially when side discussions develop, or when the thread has a large number of "no valuable content" posts. (Note: Please, there is no offense to be taken here. Obviously, I believe that encouragement and appreciative posts are important, but in the context of someone going back to read the thread solely for knowledge, this has no value (or, it is, at most, of entertaining value :) )
2. One might waste time reading through these threads, time that could have been spend better reading through other "great" / "classic" / "truly valuable" / "enlightening" threads.

While I acknowledge the value of the PE manual, by no means does it encompass all the wisdom and lines of thought presented in these threads.

My proposal is therefore to start creating "digests" of these threads - I.e. Versions that have been cleared out of posts (or parts of) that are off-topic, that bring no actual value to the pursuit of absorbing knowledge from that thread.

For instance, a 60-page classic clamping thread (I said it randomly, I don’t know if there is one) could be compacted to a 14-page (or 23-page etc.) thread which would take up less time and also present knowledge in a more clear way.
One may go further and the "archivist" could also identify statements, conclusions even sentences of crucial importance in the posts, and highlight them (in a way that would be unique to archiving/digesting only - such that there would be no confusion between what the op posted initially and what was edited).

If this is to happen, we all would have to understand that taking out posts (like "Nice job, man!", "Keep up the good work!" etc.) would in no way insult that person or their ideas. It is actually to be appreciated that they invested the time to post encouragements etc., but in the context mentioned here it would be best not to have them in the digested version.
Of course, one would always have the opportunity to go read the "Full" (initial / unedited) version of the thread.

Another risk is the subjectivity of the archivist. What they might think is important, may be considered by someone else unimportant and vice versa. It would hence be nice to have some kind of collaborative process in which at least three people would be involved in the digesting process, and they would, together, come to the digested form.

Finally, the digested threads should be organized into categories, and maybe even numbered.

II. Devise and implement a system for organizing and numbering PE exercises.

I will first start with some examples:
- Imagine what our life would be like if the roads weren’t numbered;
- (For doctors) realize how useful the ICD 10 is (ICD-10 - Wikipedia)

I truly believe that a high quality classification and numbering system of PE exercises would be of great benefit to us, for reasons like the following:
A). Less time to write it down and to read it.
B). Less chance for confusion (as you would have clear definitions)
C). With a good numbering system, one could instantly obtain information about issues such as how "advanced" the exercise is considered, if it is a variation of some sort and so on.
I am not saying that the existing names should be dropped from usage - in fact, in day to day conversations they would probably be preferred. But for many other applications (routine monitoring, routine posting), it may prove to be useful.

Hence, what would this involve?

1. Go over the existing written knowledge and write down all existing exercises.

2. Devise an optimum way to create the exercise classes (which would generate the organizational and hierarchical structure of the database), hence choosing the optimum parameters to group exercises:
- By what they do for you? (Increases FL, increases EG, increases erection quality, corrects injuries etc.);
- By how advanced they are / by how much care must be taken in doing them / by how much strain they place on your penis (and in this structure one could go on making statements "only perform exercise R12 after having done J03 for at least three months :) )
- Other ways.

3. Classify the existing exercises along the structure chosen at point 2. Also, be sure how to treat the cases of variations / modifications.

4. Devise a naming system (I guess alphanumeric) and name the exercises. The names should easily indicate class information, if the exercise is a variation of the "base" exercise, and optimally also it’s degree of difficulty. Also, the naming system should be conceived such that there would be no problems in adding and naming exercises that will be discovered in the future without messing up the logical structure.

5. Make a page for each exercise that would contain
A). Links to how it’s done (in the PE manual, if there), to videos and to threads (or digested threads relevant to that exercise).
B). A small data sheet, standardized, containing presentation of things such as difficulty, risk, efficiency and efficacy (based on empirical data from this site), contraindications and special precautions, side effects etc. (Yes, just like for medication!)

I will stop here and pass it to you for ideas.. Comments.. Improvements.. Proposals.

In my opinion, the PE wiki should be the focus of consolidated information. I agree about the routine numbering, though we’d need a way to distinguish between the numerous variations of similar exercises.

I know what I want, and I'm coming to get it.

PE is something that is known (in the medical department) but will never be be released as a “yes it works!” It will always included the side effects or the saying “no medical research has shown for it to work” or the same bullshit you see everyday in the news/online/magazine.

Why?

To much money is involved. From surgery, to penis pump to even just penis enlargement pills. If people truly believe they could grab their dicks and yank them till it’s big, this country will lose a lot of money.

Who do you know that is comfortable with their penis size that doesn’t already have a monster dick (9+) or have deep pockets. A lot!

It is. If people actually took the time and looked for themselves they’d find most of the answers to their question’s there.

I'm a big fan of 50 Cent, or as we call him in Zimbabwe, four hundred million dollars.

I find that the search function works very well compared to most forums out there.

If they are too lazy to search for the answers than fuck them, getting answers about PE is like a quest for the holy PE grail and only the ones that really try should be rewarded with enlightenment. Psst! Sir Knight of the penis round table you can get a lot of enlightenment with the search function right here at thunders.

I like that view actually. It’s also more rewarding when you discover something then try it out and it works after searching and reading so much.

Some of the threads are massive; having to search all the way through is impractical and means that members are missing out on critical information. The PE wiki needs to be expanded to reflect more of what is being discussed in the threads.

Then the PE wiki will also become massive.

.

An easier way to find the actual subject is to use the advanced search. This shows the actual post containing the word you wish to search on, rather than the whole posting.

Dino - far from me to think that people are lazy; I simply implied that none of us have the luxury of investing as much time as we would like to in the search for PE information endeavor. Maybe some of us have strenuous jobs, a family, children to raise. Although one may take time off from “free time” and even from the above-mentioned activities (with the exception of raising the children - nothing beats the importance of that), they might still not have as much time as they wanted.
If they had, they would most likely research the way you mentioned.

As for the search function - well, you can search for words, for answers to questions and even for concepts but you can not search for lines of thought and novel ideas that posters had at that very moment. And, mind you, these valuable lines of thought and novel ideas may be lost somewhere in the depths of a huge thread, and by new people not seeing them, the probability to further expand on and contribute to these lines of thought and novel ideas is reduced, which affects all of us!

I find that the potential benefits (the time saved and the additional clarity) would outweigh the costs of doing this. A skilled editor can quickly and creatively go through a large thread and extract what it is to be extracted. While this is a one time process only, many many more would benefit in the future from his (or her) work.

In the end, I want to mention that the ones of us who DO have the time, should not forget that we are lucky to be in this situation. On the other hand, nothing could stop us from undertaking actions for the good of those that are not so lucky.

This was the sole reasoning behind my idea regarding thread digests.

As a sidenote, it’d be neat to see the top 50 threads favorited by members throughout the site.

Size is little more than a controllable perception without an accurate means of measurement.

I agree, I searched my butt off. so should they. besides, the less people know about PE, the more people have a smaller dick then we. lol
