Interesting Men's Health Sex Survey

I took a sex survey from Men’s Health magazine today. Upon completing the survey I found some interesting results.

At the time of my survey, 23,600 men and 5186 women completed the survey.

Two of the questions were related to penis size. Here is what they have to say. The percentages may not add up to 100% since those are the top three choices:

Ideal length - Men
48.8% - 7 inches
28.4% - 6 inches
19.2% - 8 inches

Ideal length - Women
49.4% - 7 inches
31.5% - 6 inches
15% - 8 inches

Ideal girth - Men
75.5% - As big as a D battery
12.5% - As big as a racquetball
7.9% - As big as a quarter

Ideal girth - Women
70.4% - As big as a D battery
18.3% - As big as a racquetball
5.2% - As big as a quarter

Note: A D battery is only 4 1/4 inches around - I measured one. I think they tried to give us examples we could relate to, but flawed in that not everyone has one in front of them for comparison, which is probably why the skinny D battery was so popular. I didn’t realize a D battery was so thin until I measured it. Can’t imagine who would have picked a quarter.

Another question was: Which of the following is most important for pleasing your partner?

Men
41.3% - Oral-sex technique
31.4% - Thrusting technique
24.6% - Length of intercourse

Women
47.9% - Oral-sex technique
33.4% - Thrusting technique
16.1% - Length of intercourse

Penis size was the fourth choice, which did not make it into the top three for either sex. Odd question though - it probably should have been “What is most important for pleasing women?”

That’s some interesting stuff, winkie, especially considereing it was a large (29,000) survey. Surely more representative than those useless ones that poll 50 people. I thought it interesting that the numbers were so similar, generally, between men and women. i.e. 48.8% of men and 49.4% of women agreed that 7” was an ideal length. Thanks for sharing.

I agree winkie, they picked some weird items for girth, especially a freaking racquetball, and the girth questions seem flawed to me. The size disparity is way too much. D-cell is 4.25”, then they jump up to a racquetball which is apparently about 7” around, and hard for some people to envision as a cylinder, which probably caused some women to say no.

They should have dumped the quarter and included the good old toilet paper tube in that list, at the least.

And I would say most woman would say their “ideal” height in a male is over 6 feet but they are all pretty happy with what they have, which is what mostly like 5’9” or 5’10”? Ideal means nothing in the real world. Heck, my ideal car is a Porshe 911 rag top but I’m happy with what I drive, which is not a Porshe.

And so much for girth being more important than length if you go by the D battery ideal.

If they would have used a toilet paper roll core as the large girth measurement it would have been more accurate even though a TP core is only 5.1”. I wonder what results would have been for a Red Bull can ..6 5/8”??

The D battery is a sleeper I think. Go to any non-porn store that has vibrators and you end up with the standard model taking C batteries, and they
don’t fit tight inside. Compared to a C, a D looks significantly larger than the store bout vibrator without causing undue stretching. It would also get votes because it’s a cylinder.

A roll of quarters would have been a better for comparison than a single quarter.

8oz can of cooking spray (Pam) or shaving gel would be better than a racquetball for a 7”circumference. The designers of the test apparently don’t know that not everyone plays racquetball.

I get 4.125 inches on my D cell, and about 3.125 inches for a quarter dollar coin. I don’t have any racquet balls handy, however.

I would certainly vote for something a bit larger than the size of a toilet paper tube.

That makes it 7.1 inches for circumference I think, 18% would like that :faint:

The choice of a D battery, a racquetball and nothing in between was kinda unlucky
