IR Heating and the testicles...

I’ve just bought one of those Phillips IR lights. Though I’ll admit it’s great as it keeps me warm through stretching, jelqing and hanging, I’m a little worried about heating up my testes, as I’ve read that too much heat is not good for sperm production.
At worst my fears are that of becoming infertile, though I have no significant proof to justify this worry.

Does anyone know if there is any truth in this and possible ways around it?
I was thinking about pulling my balls back and securing them with tape or something, but as I’m on holiday I have yet to try this.

I can say one thing about the IR light, I’ve noticed a longer lasting bigger flaccide hang after jelqing and stretching underneath it. As I’m new to hanging I can’t really say if I’ve seen any difference with this but it definately feels like its looser to hang and stretch with under the light, which can’t be a bad thing…

I believe the short period of time you’re using the light will not cause many, if any, problems.

This article indicates that several hours of increased temperature is needed to affect sperm production. This one doesn’t give any time constraints, but is interesting in that it lists mammals which do not have a scrotum. Something I’d never been aware of. This article says changes in spermatogenesis can occur with as little as 15 minutes of increased testicular temperature. Changes in this period, however, seem to be reversible.

I’ve been thinking about getting an infrared light but am worried about the exact same thing.

I thought I read that infrared can’t penetrate certain materials? If that’s true then I was thinking about trying to cover my balls up with something, although I don’t know what.

Maybe our fears are groundless but it’s not worth becoming infertile to find out.

In one session I’d say my scrotum region is recieving about 30-45 mins of heating, though I try and minimise this by pelvic angles, they still get heated, just not as much as if they were directly under the lamp.

It’s still quite a long time and although they don’t get as heated as my penis and ligs, the scrotum is still “Warm”.
