Is Eroset still a member?

I had a question for him about EVO (Eroset’s Vein Oil) but I see his last activity was: 10-28-2005 04:13 PM. Does anyone still talk to him? Or did he change is username?

Does anyone else in the forum know a lot about EVO / Essential Oils?

You might try those that posted in the EVO thread and see?

OK Winkie, just checked the EVO thread and seen your question. My mother is a qualified and registered aromatherapist. I’m not sure I would want to ask her, but having been bought up with essential oils, I’m fairly sure of her answer.

Wash your penis thoroughly before sex. Your penis will absorb some of the oil; rosemary especially penetrates well. Lavender is anti-bacterial and may very well upset the delicate balance of natural bacteria in your wife’s vagina. The amount she would receive if you wash well first (with soap) would be negligible.

Actually I do have one more question for you. I have seen many carrier oils recommended in my books, but olive oil is never mentioned. Do you know the best carrier oil?

There isn’t really a best carrier oil. Different carrier oils have different textures and odours, abilities to maintain freshness (slow rancification), vitamin content etc. Most of the time you want a carrier with low odour so it doesn’t interfere with the essential oil, but for EVO this doesn’t matter.

For EVO my choice would be Almond oil; it has a ‘smooth’ texture, and it’s soothing to the skin. It is my choice for massage too. For massage my mother uses coconut oil, but it has the disadvantage of being solid at room temperature so you have to gently melt it, mix in the essential oils, then put it in a suitable jar/pot which you can get your fingers into. It also has quite a strong smell of it’s own, so if you are using it for things other than EVO you are limited as to which oils smell good with it.

If you are making up more than small amounts of EVO, add a little wheatgerm oil, which helps keep the blend fresh.

If you want to learn more about essential oils but don’t want to use them professionally, basic aromatherapy is often found as a night class around here; maybe it is where you live too.

The best learning is usually done when trying to find the answer to a question yourself, but PM me if you cannot find what you need. :)

I live quite literally in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately there are no classes in my area. One day I plan to move back to civilization, when I will look for a beginners course. Right now my learning is limited to what I can find in books and the internet.
