Just Build a Captn’s Wench

Just Build a Captn’s Wench

I don’t hang yet, but I decided to build a Captn’s Wench a few days ago. I had some free time and like working with my hands so I gave it a go. It’s REALLY easy to build and does what it’s supposed to (great job Captn!)

My question is, do any of you use it to help with manual stretching? I don’t mean ADS but just a normal stretching routine. Is it really a good idea to use it for this? I ask this because it seems that manual stretching applies more force than hanging low to moderate weights, but for a shorter time. Is the Wench safe for this kind of force? I used it the other day for manual stretches and I got this weird bump thing to the right and below the glans. I figured it was fluid since there was no pain and it went away the next day, but I don’t want to use it until I’m sure it’s safe.

Anyone? I thought about putting this in the hanger’s forum, but it wasn’t really about hanging.

Start (6/23/04): 7.25 BPEL X 4.75 EG As of (7/12/05): 8.00" BPEL X 5.00" EG Midshaft (5.25 base) Short Term Goal: 8.0 BPEL X 5.25 EG Midshaft Long Term Goal : 8.5 BPEL X 6.0 EG

hyyprr, I have only used my wenches as hangers, but I can definitely see the merit of using them as manual stretching devices. If the bump you noticed went away quickly then it probably was fluid buildup as you suspect. I get this quite often when I hang and wear ADS’s when I wrap too hastily. As long as using the wench as a manual stretching aid isn’t causing any pain or numbness, then by all means continue with it.

BTW, why aren’t you hanging yet?

I have hit a plateau and was considering hanging but was worried hanging was to much at this time of my progress so your idea is probably where ill start off at.

Thanks Hyyprr, now off to the wench thread to get my part list to build something this weekend.

Thanks I hope that’s all it is because it makes stretching much easier.

I’m not hanging for two reasons. First I’ve only been PEing for about 7 weeks and I don’t know if I’m really ready, and second because I’m going to be moving in a few weeks and I really don’t know if I’ll be able to continue hanging there for long periods of time because of a lack of privacy. Once I move though I’ll be able to judge how much time I’ll have to myself to do a good hanging routine.

I built one last night but ran into difficulty with the cable clamp. The thickness of the velcro would not allow the largest clamp to lock. Anyone else have this problem or does anyone have a suggestion?

nofear-

Just trim down the length of the Velcro band to a length that accomodates the clamp yet still provides a nice amount of catch.
example: If you made it with a length of 10” - trim it down to 8”.

Thanx.
