I used to do a quarterly donation thread. It actually turned into a monthly begging type thing. A few people bitched about it (and I was fucking real tired of doing it) so now I just have my signature. If we have enough in the kitty I’ll pay the monthly bill. If not and we go offline, which will cause major civil unrest in most metropolitan areas ;) , when we get enough then I can pay the bill (plus the 50 dollar reconnect fee) and get the place back online.

Yes, your app idea was new and some good came out of it. I realized that we had no links to our Archive on the forum anywhere. So that is a big plus. Thanks!!! :)

Twitter allows for tweets to be sent via text message to your phone. An app could have a notification area for this and maybe just adding the ability to follow a thread via text message would be a good thing? The text message idea would be inclusive since not everyone has an iPhone but most everyone has a text message capable phone.

Would that be better than the email notification of new posts already available?

Yes I think so. I don’t know if it is an easy addition but maybe you could post by replying to the text as well??

I think that would be a nice addition if possible as I don’t usually do e-mail much anyhow.
