To be honest I believe that most people are no very good at measuring things by eye. ( ask any girl the size of the rat or the cockroach that she saw.).
Or ask a girl what was the size of her last boyfriend, I highly doubt she will answer a precisely number. Perspective and angles are tricky, and our brains are very due to be influenced by different factors
( maybe she will think a bigger number if she really liked the guy, or a small number if she hated )
I would also say porn is a terrible representation of sex and sizes in general, and angles can really make a difference
