20 years ago today:
*Some guy was getting ready to pull the trigger on a “penis enlargement” forum
*Some other guys were amassing in motels in Maryland and New York to coordinate a series of flights designed to terrorize the U.S.
*The only person you’d see walking around with a mask would be the occasional Japanese tourist
*The city of Portland Oregon had recovered from years of blight and its downtown was pretty and safe
*”Social media” meant leaving comments on blogs or on forums
etc.
Not an idyllic time but more idyllic than now.
