New moderator

I just added hobby to the Moderator List. Did I ask if he wants to be a moderator? Nope, then he could say no!!! Welcome to the mayhem hobby, if you have any questions, just ask.

Hobby, now there is a couple or three things I have to tell you. Firstly, the annual staff party is now at your place, but the good news is that Cajun is still doing the catering!

Secondly, you now have to learn the Thunder’s Secret Handshake - Avocet will probably help you out with that one - I suggest you prepare yourself with a quick course in contortionism.

An lastly ….. I’m sorry to inform you that the pay is lousey!

Thanks for the welcome. I heard Thunder takes every new mod out for a night on the town at his expense. I sure hope this isn’t just a rumor. :gulp:

It is a rumor, started by the other mods to cause me grief. They are still pissed because they haven’t received their first paychecks (like I said before, don’t wait by the mailbox). The bad news is that I’m a cheap SOB. The good news is that we will probably get a few more new moderator’s before we get around to a staff party, so you are off the hook there.

It’s true that he takes you out for that dinner. However, he is heavily into fast food (read, “cheap”), he picks the place, always beginning with Mc or B, and you drive.

I will have to send you a video of the handshake. It is too highly convoluted to describe, requires a great deal of practice, and you always end up on the ground with his foot on your chest. When they say that Thunder is a “stand-up-guy,” that’s what they mean.

We’ll help you through all this, though, except for cleaning up after the staff party. We’ve been there. Done that. For us Mods, it’s eat and run.

Really? Good. Thunder and I are in the same town, so maybe I can at least get him to shell out for a $.49 cheeseburger? It may not be worth the trouble if I have to do the handshake.

I see that you got drafted just like I did. Thunder doesn’t like the word “no”. He doesn’t know it yet, but I registered him to run for Governor of Pennsylvania. Hell, they said that he doesn’t even have to live here. I’m printing up campaign buttons as we speak.

I am in a construction trailer parked in the field where they are going to build the new Coyote arena. Just painted “City of Glendale Building Inspector” on the side of the trailer with a can of spray paint and so far no one has bothered me. I figure if they kick me out of here, I’ll just move the trailer over to the new Cardinal site, I hear that is somewhere in Glendale also. Think our property values will go up?? Or just our taxes??
