Good solution, when it works. I did that for weeks with my server. Now they (RoadRunner) label this crap for me. Very thoughtful. They send me, subject line: “[SPAM] Avocet, let Jennifer spank out your spooge”
If RR can detect spam they should be able to send it down the drain rather than send it on.
Many servers do so including mine (so they tell me) might be worth asking them to do so -if you can reach them .
Most spam is sent out with a false addresses. I think it would be easy for any address not corresponding with the IP could be deleted, plus any with no address shown. That would clear most of the problem.
In fact Road Runner was one of my main targets. I used to receive a lot of spam from their servers. Great fun when I get something from Russia when it comes to loading the site to try and find an address to send my complaint to.
I even had a message sent out wih my address with a virus in it from a university.
It is difficult with AOL version 9 as they don’t allow copying the sender’s address at the top of the mail. So I shall have to go back to AOL 8.
