OK, I've measured!

OK, I've measured!

And it is frustrating.

This is the “official” way to measure erect length:

“Either standing up or lying flat, hold your fully erect penis perpendicular to your body. Take the “0” end of your ruler and press it against your pubic bone, along either side of your penis. This is your bone-pressed erect length measurement. Please use the same ruler each time for consistancy.”

I measure with a ruler on top of the penis instead of at the side, because it is easier to read and because I have a slight curve to one side.

I am frustrated, because I don’t know when I am supposed to take a reading. Is it when I just bone press it and see where it is at the ruler? Should I be holding my penis when I do it? Squeezing at the base? Stretching it? It seems that every time I measure, I need to touch my penis to allign it with a ruler, therefore, I apply some kind of squeeze/stretch when doind so. What is frustrating is to know how much you squeezed/stretched at the last reading? Does anyone else have this problem? This is pissing me off, because I can’t figure out if I have made gains or not. How do you guys do it? Do you touch your penis with your hand at all when taking measurements? How do you take a consistent readings? I can get different readings during the same session. ARgh…

this is what I do:

I get my best possible erection, bone press the ruler on top while kegeling for all I’m worth and straightening a slight curve.

If anyone thinks my method is not valid, fuck them.

The main point is to be consistent each time.

Don’t fret about some arbitrary measuring “rules”. Some guys here are obssesed with comparing numbers with each other. I prefer to compare my current numbers with my own past and future numbers.

when you straighten out your slight curvature, do you tend to pull/stretch the penis?

I don’t care about the “correct” way to measure it, and I don’t care to debate it either.
Like you pointed out, I just want to make sure that I am getting a consistent measurement each time I measure in order to monitor my progress.

I’m hoping to pick from three methods.
1. Get maximium erection, put ruler on top, slightly adjust penis to the ruler making sure not to stretch it out or to squeeze it.
2. Get maximum erection, put ruler on top, squeeze at the base and adjust penis to the ruler.
3. Get maximum erection, put ruler on top, take a hold near head and stretch out.
Of course, bone pressing in every method.

I’m leaning towards #1 as it seems to be most consistent with the only variation being the erection strength. #2 seems to take care of the erection strength problem, so I’m at a dilemma.

I don’t think so, just a little finger pressure, enough to make it straight - it aint much of a curve.

I think that your method #1 is close to what I have described.

I’ve been having difficulties too w/ measuring recently. I have just noticed a couple of weeks ago that I tend to lean over whilst standing up and measuring - unbeknownst to me - and steal some extra lenght. Unfortunately I’ve been thinking that I’ve been gaining more than I have. But I thought it was quite funny that my subconscious is obsessed with penis size too! ;)

Anyway, what’s the deal with straightening out? I have a slight upward curve, and straightening out gives me something like 0.3” - 0.5”. I just feel that it’s cheating, though, because it puts my penis over 6.6”, and when I look at it, it still looks tiny.

“it still looks tiny”… it seems, at least from reading the comments of fellow members, that no matter how big you are, it still looks small to you.

And about straightening out, it is not about cheating, because it doesn’t matter unless you want to compare to others. What I want is to find a consistent way to measure in order to record my progress in a systematic manner. This way I will know what works for me and what does not.

That’s about all I wanted to say. I am due to measure next week. Unfortunately, I did not PE this week at all, and it looks I will not be able to PE for a while. Therefore, the measurement will be for a 3 week worth of workouts and it will not be comparable to my initial measurement, because I don’t remember what method I used last time (but I think I tried to get the longest possible measurement), and on top of that I wanted to switch to a new ruler, one that I know I will have around for a while. Sticking to the same ruler and same measuring method should insure consisten and accurate measurements throught PE career.

Its not Your shaft is that long. You cheat yourself by not doing it. Alternatively you could use tailors tape to follow the curve. If you ran 5 miles on a curved course and someone told you you only ran 3.5 miles (distance as the crow flies) I think you’d tell them they were full of shit. Besides when doing your measurements for following progress if your get the maximum number out the first time around any additional gain will be a real gain. To avoid the question of “cheating” with an erect measurment you could simply do bpfsl. these give the least variables and essentially eliminates false gains and variations due to a better or lesser erection or “degree of straightening”.

What i do is i just measure from the end of the pubic hair line to the tip of my head. That way if i say to a girl oh hey im 6 inches they can see that I am 6 inches. But if I do the bone press thingy then im 6.25 which I feel is kind of lying to myself, and then they go hey wheres the other quarter inch, I say “oh its inside my body”, sounds kinda dumb to me. But I do respect the consistency of bp measurements.

No, the key here is consistency. Whether you measure NBP or BP, whether you use a tape or a ruler, whether you sit or stand….DO IT THE SAME WAY EVERY TIME. You want to compare with yourself, as luvdadus said. You don’t want to compare apples & oranges.

Many guys would do a set in the gym with, say, 250 x 6 fairly slow, strict reps. Then next week do 250 x 8, with sloppier & quicker reps. Did they get stronger? Of course not, they simply did the reps differently.

Measure the same way every time - I recommend BP, with a ruler, placed atop the penis (as opposed to along the side or beneath it), and I do it while seated on a chair. Not “rules” - just easy to be consistent this way.

The bottom line?

Every individual should have their own consistent and reliable method to record measurements.

Find the method you like to use, and use it! Don’t deviate from it, or modify it, just try to keep the constants the same every time you measure.

Simple.
