I have been experience some pain in one of the two fingers I use to do the ok-grip. Anyone else who has had this problem? And how did you fix it?

Is it by any chance your thumb? If it is, it could be a simple case of DeQuerans syndrome. Painful as hell, but not serious. Just an aggravation of tendons.

It is actually the other finger - I think it is called “pointing finger”. It goes away when I have jelqed for a few minutes.

I also experienced some pain in my pointing finger, but not from jelqing but from manual stretching. Recently I pulled very hard between the cheeks (I grabbed my dick from behind through the legs and pulled it with my right arm back and to the right). The force I used for the OK grip obviously resulted in too much pressure on the second joint of the pointing finger (one below the knuckles?!) which hurt a while… I’ll keep an eye on it and try to optimize the grip.

If you are getting pain in your fingers the best way to solve it is by using heavy duty hand grippers.My fingers and hands ached like mad when I did a few days of heavy stretching so I bought some hand grippers from ironmind and they have greatly improved my hand and finger strength and also endurance so I deffinately recommend them.Don’t buy the ordinary ones that you can get in any sports shop because thay only offer 50lbs of closing pressure which is to easy.

The Ironmind ones start off at 100lbs of closing pressure and go right up to nearly 400lbs of closing pressure which only one man has ever closed.Give them a go.

If you have pain in your fingers, stop whatever’s causing the pain and let it heal! I jelqed through pain 3-4 years ago, and now probably have permanent damage to my “pointer” finger joint in my right hand.

A strengthening routine is definitely worth doing once you’ve let it heal.

It might be hard to explain a repetitive strain injury like that! At least your stuck in an OK grip! :D

Seriously exercise your hand out, use rubber bands between a few fingers and stretch them out. I had nerve damage in my upper arm from laying it on a table as I worked on my computer. I loss almost all feeling in my ring finger and pinky. With therapy I worked out the nerve damage (it wasn’t bad, yet) and I exercised my hand with a special putty they have for gripping. Also they have weighted rubber bands you can use. But any rubber bands work.

Nerve damage and joint damage are two different things.

I can’t fully bend that finger now without pain, and it no longer “pops” like all the others do(cracking knuckles). I’m 100% certain it’s from jelqing when my hands hurt. The other fingers seem to have fully recovered from my stupidity, but some were a little painful for a couple of years.

I had some aches and pains in my hands awhile back. Sometimes I couldn’t make a clenched fist without my fingers aching or even straighten my fingers out. The cause of this came from gym time, and 2 hours of manual PE. Turned out my joints were just sore and beaten up, so I started taking some chrondroitin and glucosamine, and the problem was solved. If its your joints, then thats an option.

PS: Coming from someone that did PE during a rotator cuff injury, your hands should never stop you from doing PE. I’m kidding… I think.

I didn’t say that it wasn’t. What I was trying to get across in a grotesque way is the fact that exercising the hand and fingers will help. During my nerve damage I loss about 50% of the strength in those fingers alone. Exercising like I did with the putty and rubberbands brought that back.

If it is the index finger (pointer) it could be a condition known as trigger finger. What happens is the tendon that runs the length of the finger, kinda gets stuck when you bend the finger. Not serious, uncomfortable yes. Its a form of tendonitis and will heal. Questor is correct in using rubber bands or thera putty to strengthen the digits (fingers) If you can while jelqing, alternate hands so that the stress isn’t always on the same hand.

What kind of pain is it? Is it a dull ache, is it accompanied by a tingling sensation, does it burn, etc.?


Retired.

Right now it is fine - I can not feel any pain. (Just came out of bed.) I had a resting day from Jelqing yesterday - that might have helped! I am not sure if it will hurt when I do my exercises later this day.
