Relating erection percentages to functional standards

Relating erection percentages to functional standards

Here at Thunder’s, many exercises make reference to percent erect: 10%, 50%, 90%, 100%. I’ve always wondered, what do those numbers mean? My penis is not equipped with a readout gauge!

In the thread Rzilla’s Chemical Enlargement Program , Longtimer had a post (longtimer - Rzilla’s Chemical Enlargement Program) which contained information from a patent application that related erection percentages to observable performance standards. He was kind enough to provide me with the link to that patent application.

In the patent application http://appft1.u spto.gov/netacg … =DN/20050065159 , there is a section that relates percentage of erection to functional and observable factors:

Quote
[0017] Erectile responses may be categorized according to the following: a 100% response or engorgement is a maximal erection which is very hard, firm and unbendable, a 75% response is the softest response considered. hard enough for penetration, a 65-75% response would be partially engorged but would not be sufficient for penetration and intercourse, 40-65% is not a usable erection for sexual intercourse but will have therapeutic effect for enlargement according to the invention, and a response of less than 40% is a slightly engorged, very soft penis wherein the size of the penis is close to the non-erect dimension of flaccid penis with no discernable significant firmness when it is manually palpated by an experienced health professional, and is probably not useful for penis enlargement.

There are limitations to this. The patent application does not provide a source for the basis of these numbers. Further, in reading through the patent application, I find things that I would not agree with.

This information is therefore intended primarily to further the discussion on relating erection percentages to things that we can see and feel, and does not represent a broader endorsement of the source PE patent application.

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.

I too find the %gauge a subjective measure, looks like this might help, I’m going away to think about this, thanks for the post.

Functionally, for PE, I’ve always looked at it like this: For jelking and some other manual exercises, forget percentages and think about bendability. Ideally, you should be engorged to the point where you have a pretty good whopper going for you, but it is still pliable and bendable. Maybe not perfect for sex, but, as they say, it could be a “stuffer.” At that point, it is easy to squeeze blood up and down the shaft and add some stress to the tunica without danger to it.

First of all, thanks Lampwick for this very informative thread. I’ve been having trouble with the idea of % of erection in a jelqing context.

So if I understand correctly, avocet, if your erection is not bendable during jelqing, it’s probably considered above 75% erect, and thus a bit too erect?

Thanks, folks. :)

This is exactly what I had in mind for this thread.

It is easy to know when you have a 100% erection, or a zero percent erection. It is more difficult to put numbers to the stages in between, and relate that to what we can see and feel (and bend). I think it would be worthwhile to develop descriptions for the various levels of erection that are useful for different PE exercises. Call it 70 - 80 % for jelqing, but then go on to explain what that means in a practical sense, as you just did.
