String on upper side of penis

When I was younger, about 11-12 I think, I had a string on the upper side of my penis which connected the foreskin with the glans, it broke and bled a little. What was that? I haven’t read about such strings anywhere, just the frenulum and that’s under the glans.

I can’t remember now what it’s called, but I had it too and most guys do. It’s very normal, and we are lucky because if it didn’t brake by itself, it would have to be surgically cut or you wouldn’t be able to have normal sex or masturbate.

What? I still have that “string” and am able to masturbate as well as have normal sex (without a rubber too). I guess it just stretched instead of breaking.

I’m circumcised and it’s called the “frenulum”. For me it goes from the circumcision scar to just under the urethra. For you guys, I believe it connects to the foreskin. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

If your young an not circumcised it’s completely natural for sections of your foreskin to be “attached” to the underside of the “mushroom” so to speak. The area that’s attached usually disconnects naturally as you get older (mine went at about 9 years old), however in some rare cases it won’t and may require surgery as Chicken mentioned.

If your no longer a child and it is still attached it’s not really a problem unless it causes pain or discomfort during masturbation or sex, other than that getting surgery would be purely cosmetic.

Yeah, sorry I was wrong.. It’s not on the upper side of the penis, it’s under the glans and indeed it connects the foreskin to the head in some way just like jmag mentioned

I’m circumsized (somewhat loosely I suppose) but there are sections of my residual foreskin that connect to the glans like you’ve described. In my case it’s not so much a “string” but more like two 1/2” wide bands that run from my circumcision scar to my glands on the right and left side. The section on the right has split partially so it does look like there are strings on either edge of the band.

I’m really glad someone started this thread. Up until this point I was always a little concerned that I had a freakish penis. I personally don’t think it looks very good (though my girlfriend has never complained) but I’m perfectly able to masturbate and have sex. So the only reason to get surgery would be aesthetics and I really can’t really justify having a knife go anywhere near my penis unless it was absolutely neccessary. The one thing that is a little inconvenient is that smegma tends to build up under the bands of skin and can be a little difficult and painful to clean.

I know we’re all used to discussing penises here but I apologize if I grossed anybody out with my pretty graphic description.

I’m kind of disappointed some people make fun on other peoples expense in this thread, I personally could live without that.

With that said, Yoyototo, It’s gone for me, It “broke” when I was around 11 if I remember correctly. It was just a small piece of skin I guess, “‘foreskin […] ‘attached’ to the underside of the ‘mushroom’” describes it correctly. It was about 2 mm wide.

Maybe the_skeptic could provide pictures?

I was looking for signs of a string and found what may have been the string but I can’t be sure.
