I understand the power of heat when warming up for a PE session. I moved home last week, and my bedroom does not have great AC airflow. As a result, my room is about 10 degrees F hotter than my old home that I lived while at University. The weird thing is that I feel that I get a better stretch in this hotter environment. I may be sweating by the end of the PE session, but it feels like a great workout. Makes me wonder if doing hanging/stretching in a sauna could have added benefits.

If you ever have the option give it a go. I always liked PEing in my hot tub and hanging out side in the summer.

Yoga is supposed to be done in warmer environments and yoga involves many poses that stretch, so i would assume this is true.

Just started doing my heavy duty static stretcher in a hot tub yesterday I got a much better stretch in the tub.It is made of hard plastics and aluminum and rubbers so it won’t rust.I don’t use the spring because they are made of metal but I guess if I dry them really good it should be alright to use in the tub.


Current stats march 2008= Nbel 6.75 Bpel 7.5 Eg 5.5

Goal by the end of next year Nbel 8.5 Eg 6.5

Bikram Yoga is done in high heat, but I’ve also injured myself more often with Bikram because I push myself more than I should.

I’ve always been told to warm up before stretching. The analogy i was told is that your muscles are like tofee. Heat it and it stretches. Try to stretch it when its cold and it snaps.

Saying that, I have no idea how true it is
