The Penis Enlargement mystery of the Topinama tribe.
The other day I was thinking about something I had read long ago on the NHS’s website about penis size. They described an amazonian tribe called the ‘Topinama’ that ‘encouraged poisonous snakes to bite their penis to enlarge it’. It occured to me that this could potentially be translated to modern PE. If the active component in the snake venom that resulted in the enlarged penis was known, it could be injected into the penis at an appropriate dose. I’m not saying that this is something I would have tried or considered trying, but I was interested.
Anyway, I tried searching for this tribe, but was only able to find it being mentioned in a very similar fashion on other web articles about penis size or penis enlargement. It always seems to be mentioned in conjunction with another fact about the Sadhus holy men of India using weights to stretch their penises, and about half of the articles refer to this tribe as the ‘Topamina’ instead of the ‘Topinama’.
So it would seem to me that this is completely made up. There is not a single piece of information or a single reference to this tribe outside of these articles, and all of the statements are unsubstantiated with any further detail, except for one which said that the increase in size lasted for up to six months. Obviously, none of the articles reference the original source of the information either.
You may be wondering why I care. Firstly, I find it interesting that such a situation has arisen. There must have either been an original source of the claim, or one of the websites made it up and all of the other website’s writers just blatantly copied almost the exact qoute word for word without doing so much as a google search to check if it’s actually factual. If there is an original source, I would be very interested to see someone find it.
Note also, that if this fact is indeed a lie, the act of making it up and perpetuating it is actually rather racist/neo-colonialist. This individual decided that they would say an amazon tribe called the Topinama got snakes to bite their penises so they would become bigger. It’s an obscene thing to come up with and says something about the individual’s perception of amazonian tribes as savage, crude and primitive societies. It also suggests a racist/neo-colonialist mindset of those who qouted this fact on other websites as they felt the statement sounded true enough that they didn’t bother fact checking it.
The other thing that bothers me about this is what it says about the NHS, assuming that the statement is indeed false. I think most Britons on this website know by now that the NHS is far from an accurate and reliable source of information, not just for penis enlargement, but for health matters in general. Even if the fact about the ‘Topinama’ is only intended as a piece of trivia to open up the article with, the falsehood indicates a poor standard of research and accuracy that unfortunately I have come to expect from the NHS.
