One day, when I make my album about the second relapse and third trip to rehab aptly titled “I did too much too young, now I’m one brainless son of a gun” and be a multi-platinum record seller, I will thank this place when I get my fifth Grammy.

In the mean time I am hoping that the brotherhood neglect this broke failed triple threat (actor, model, comedian) till November, but donate all the same.

Why do you so disllike Paypal 8-Ball?

Generally I have found them satifactory. Can’t understand the UK one though.

Once someone sent me a large payment through paypal (thousands of dollars) and they put a hold on my account for no reason, refused to release the money to me or even to send it back to the sender so he could pay me in some other method. We even both called together and they still wouldn’t, they were just going to hold the money indefinitely. It took dozens of calls, dozens of hours on the phone, and dragged on for over a month. I went all the way up the chain of command and kept getting stone walled, although usually when I would request a manager I either wouldn’t get one or they were just as bad. Also the lower level supervisors, just one notch above the reps answering the phones would claim to be the highest level of customer support (a boldfaced lie). I ended up doing a google search and found the highest level dispute executive and he was the biggest prick of them all! I was just about to look into getting an attorney when I tried one time, and some nice lady I talked to (the ONLY nice person I encountered) was able to release the funds without any trouble. I never found out why no one else could/would do this for me out of the 50 or so that I spoke with but I know this, I will NEVER do business with paypal again after going through that.

Heard a lot of stories about problems with PayPal but never had any myself. But I have a registered commercial account, have verified my existence with passport along with my company certification. I guess that helps.

The pressure is pretty hard on PayPal from PCI (Payment Card Industry) to prevent money laundry. If they don’t apply to PCI, they loose the ability to accept Mastercard/VISA/AMEX and that will probably kill their business.

The stories about locked account and lost money is there. But in most cases, the reason is that these persons refuse to connect the account to their real ID and bank account.

I’ve had similar problems with Paypal - They hold onto the money for WAY too long - I made a payment by accident once and it took close to a month to get the money returned even though the payee refunded my money from their end - In this day and age of digital light speed there’s no excuse for transactions taking that long.

Yes, Paypal can make some serious screwups, but at the moment (and this has been true for years) they are the best option available.

I’m surprised. as I have used Paypal on many occasions. But they never have screwed things up. on the payments side. Bit difficult trying to change things in the UK version though.
