To ADS or not to ADS

That is the question.

On one hand we have a lot of people who use them, swear by them and recommend them and feel that gains will not come without one.

On the other hand we have those who do the same as the ADS wearers but don’t ADS much if any at all/ever.

From what I read both have gained, the question is if you could save time and discomfort each day not using an ADS PE would be more enjoyable, yes? Even the makers of ADS here would agree I think.

My thoughts:
The idea of keeping the micro tears apart so that new tissue can grow in the gaps make sense, to me at least, but what if the truth is like muscle building, once the fibres have been damaged under control the body knows where the new tissue needs to go and makes new/bigger fibres, resulting in lengthened/thickened muscle/penis? We don’t keep our biceps in the pumped state, or tensed or stretched? Maybe we just need to train to the point we tell the body to adapt and leave it to heal, just like building muscles. P.s. I know its not a muscle, but what if that’s how the body repairs damage, full stop. (period for the Americans)

I know after surgery where the suspensory ligament is cut an extender/traction device needs to be worn so that the ligament doesn’t heal in the same way as before if not shorter, but does that apply to micro tears of the penis, caused by stretches, hanging or any other length device?

Think about it, the ligaments don’t stretch and stretch and stretch allowing the inner penis to come out, you only have to look at the penis anatomy to see that doesn’t happen (IMO some small gains are possible from targeting the suspensory ligaments, like the surgery results). (I fully recommend looking at the anatomy for newbies, I learned a lot, or so I feel) The increased force causes microscopic tears and the body needs to heal with new fibres being added when building blocks are available and in abundance(protein, nutrients), causing growth.

Q: If yes what is your routine? wear ADS, dry jelqs - about 5 minutes / night. I am going to restart clamping, pumping, and Autoextender this week.

Q: Do you think the ADS helped with gains? Definitely helped with vascularity and flaccid hang. Noticed a bit more girth at base.

GZ - Interesting well stated post. I am very interested in these questions / answers as well. As once I complete the newbie routine it seems that auto-extend and ADS are the next logical steps in PE progression.

Jes, But there are cheaper alternatives with better head fastening pieces, So do not buy the jes.

10 months, Around 1300 hours now.

Wear it every day, And I have also pumped, hung, stretched, jelqed, And clamped.

2 cm EL, 3 cm FSL, 2-3 cm base girth, 1 cm girth mid shaft, 2 cm head girth.

Most of the gains came during the first 3 months (the EL and most of the base girth), And I believe the extender is what caused the gains.

There are other reasons to use an ADS than just healing in an extended state, The constant force causes an increased cell activity, The body will try to adapt to the stress. This is difficult to explain in English, You should read some of the threads about this, ModestoMan started a thread yesterday I think, And he explains this very well in his thread, You should read that.

Any difference in effects between wearing an ADS and an ACE bandage?

I’ve never used, see or know both but it seems to me they are both serving the same function. Is this right?

I have a pro-extender and I have wore it on an average of two hours a day since september. For the first month I wore it around three hours a day. In the last three and a half months I have gained one inch in length and a half inch in girth. I have yet to gain from jelqing etc. I swear by these products.

I haven’t used an ADS yet, tho I am actively considering getting/making one.

However, I’m unconvinced; in my opinion, ADS is done at too low a tension to have any real impact, other than to eventually slacken the tendons. I would expect it only to be marginally effective in increasing erect length, although believe me when I say I’d sincerely love to believe otherwise. The only circumstances I would expect it to work under for real (i.e. erect) gains would be if you could apply a fair amount of tension - say several pounds, probably 10-20, to pull your unit close to the sensible stretch limit point - and then maintain it in that state almost 24hrs/day for a long period of time e.g. several months. I don’t think such an arrangement would be a practical proposition, nor would it be safe or healthy!

Think surgical traction for healing limbs, or corrective dental braces to bend wayward teeth back into position, and you’ll understand what I’m driving at.

Five days on, two days off: light stretching first thing in the morning followed by fairly intense wet jelq for about 20-30 mins, then shower, then stretching at intervals/whenever convenient throughout the day. Often but not always, lighter weight wet jelq session last thing at night, then bed, some more stretches whilst heading towards the land of nod, finally tucking it into a face-down flat-out Fowfer and going to sleep in that position (and re-tucking back into the same position if I wake up at any point).

This is a very good question. I used to think ADS were worthless; now, I’m having second thoughts. If growth is caused by tissue remodeling and/or distraction histogenesis, then an ADS may serve a very useful purpose of keeping the tissues under tension. I don’t think it’s about keeping the “micro-tears” open. I think it’s about maximizing the amount of time under tension. I think the cells will promote growth in response to tension by outputting more collagen and/or dividing along the direction of applied force.

I don’t use an auto-extender, wrap or ace bandage.

I bought all the stuff that I needed to make a wrap with the bandages, I got some soft elastic, and some other things to make it, but when I wrapped I couldn’t find the tension to keep the head from retracting, whilst allowing blood to circulate around the beef. My cock kept turning purple and seeing as I am not Grimmace- this is not good!

Q: If no what is your routine? Hot towel warm up, 25mins worth of stretching (10m up, 5m down, 10m up) followed by 20m wet jelqing, 5m kegel, a few amazing isometrics (if I can get it up!) followed by massage and hot towel wrap.

Q: If no what are your results? Flaccid size- Very happy with. Over an inch in length increase and almost an inch in girth. Erect length not as quick- I think almost a cm gain. Girth maybe .1 or .2 increase- I can’t really see it on the tape, but I can feel it. All is good!

Q: If no would you consider an ADS? I would consider it if there was irrefutable evidence that it worked and I wouldn’t be wasting money or time.

Now my own question: Is any of this shit even necessary in the first place if your cock is not turtling anymore? Someone answer me this!

Q: If no why not? I’m still pretty new to PE, and I haven’t worked up to it yet, but like you, I am seriously looking into it, most likely I will be trying the golf weights soon.

Manual stretches, 10 30 second stretches at a time, kegels, jelqing, 4 sets of 50 3 second strokes, pumping 3 sets of 15-20 minutes, and I have recently started clamping as well, 3 sets of 10-15 minutes. I vary up the order, but I try to get in at least 2 to 3 sets of different exercises every day, and I just take rest days if I feel kind of sore or I don’t have time.

Q: If no would you consider an ADS? Definitely. From what I have been reading on this site, it seems like a good idea, not so much as method for gains in and of itself, but more to do after/in between the other exercises, to hang lower flacid, and hopefully help cement the temporary gains I get during a work out(wouldn’t that be nice).
