ok i’ve been trying to wet jelq with a firm grip at about 50% erection, just enough so that it feels like its bloating up and filling with blood and all that, feels like i’ve got a good “pump” going, and I kegel before each jelq, BUT, I can’t even get to 60 jelqs without my penis feeling a slight burning sensation or a slight discomfort in the head region. Now even for beginners, 150 is recommended. Either I’m jelquing way too hard, which I don’t think I’am, or kegeling blood in to my head and then jelquing which somehow is putting too much strain on the head. In any case, I’m wondering if any of you guys have had this experience? Its freaking me out, because I want to be motivated, but what feels like the right way to jelq starts to feel uncomfortable.

How are you grasping your penis?

I know what you are saying… I jelq in the shower with just the water on me. It seems to lubricate me sufficently and if I start to feel sore or too aroused, I just take my shower until I can do another 50 or 75 strokes. I guess in all I may stroke 300 or 400 times in a session over 10 minutes or so.

I try to stick with the rule that if it hurts, it is wrong.
One thing to consider is that there is a conditioning stage we all must go through - not unlike weightlifting or running; you can’t just jump into a foreign routine and not expect a certain amount of physical resistance. Your body balks at this sudden stress you are placing upon it. As with these similar pursuits you have to take a gradual, measured approach or you risk consequences that will set you back even further than when you began. Every guy reacts differently, and at a different pace so you have to listen to what your own body is saying.
I think your unit is telling you that sets of 60 wet jelqs is sufficient for now - maybe 65/70 next week.

sounds good, thanks. i’ll keep these things in mind. i’ve always heard people say use the OK grip, its best, and i think im doing it right, i’ve just got to ease into things. i’ll also look at that other way of gripping. i’ve hung out at cheeky cherry.com alot, they all swear by the OK grip.

I think the OK grip is better, but if you find that you can avoid pain with another grip, go with the one that doesn’t hurt. Try the OK grip on occasion to see if it still causes pain. Of course, your problem could be comeing from something completely unrelated to your gripping method.

well i mean, i’d like it to be not painful, but i also don’t want to be doing an ineffective excercise. I mean, why do it at all if it has no effect?

The “OK” grip completely encircles the penis with a ring made of your thumb and first finger. This puts pressure on the coprora cavernosa (CC), which is what you want with jelqing, and the corpus spongiosum (CS). The CS is directly connected to the glans, so if you’re using the OK grip you’re pushing blood into the head with each stroke. The Kegel exercise squeezes on the “bulb” of the penis, which is at the internal end of the CS. So you’re putting double pressure on your head by Kegeling and using the OK grip. You might consider stopping one or the other. Use RB’s side grips (this post) and continue to Kegel with each stroke OR continue to use the OK grip, but don’t Kegel.

Kegeling between each jelq can be intense, especially when just starting out with PE. If I find that I need to kegel up some, I have to jelq below standard force on the following stroke; It will hurt some otherwise.
When jelqing with the OK grip, you want to work around the tendency of getting the thumb’s upper joint (the side of the knuckle) pressing in above the top shaft.

OK I‘ll try not to kegel in between strokes until I’m more experienced. But then how do I keep blood in there for it to be erect enough for a good pump? Even if I think about sexy thoughts, my penis fills up anyway, and I do this while jelquing so I can go continuously without stopping. Does normal blood flow coming into my penis when aroused not have the same pressure as kegeling?
