Urologists Speak!

Urologists Speak!

For those who followed the erect exercises thread, you may remember that I emailed 7 leading urologists asking their opinion of the safety of erect exercises and inviting them to visit our forum.
So far I have recieved 2 replies. Here they are ……..

Dear Sir/Madame

Thanks for your e-mail.

Please give me a call in the office.

We will send you an information packet.

I am sorry but I am too busy to participate in the chat forum

And the second ………

Dear Mr. (my name :) ),

Thanks for your perfectly lovely letter
and invitation. Presently I am
working over 80 hours a week and
decline all such invitations regardless of
how tempting they are.

Regretfully I cannot serve as a
policeman to protect the public from
all the novelty and neurtriceutical(sic) hoaxes
out their(sic).

Caveat emptor,

Harold M. Reed, M.D.

Not quite the respose we were hoping for but, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
I’ll keep you posted if/when I receive more.

"Pertinaciously pursuing a penis of preposterously prodigious proportions." What a mouthful!

There are apparently, only 3 doctors in the US who are qualified as both urologists and plastic surgeons. They are Dr Reed in Florida, Dr Rheinschild in California and Dr Whitehead in New York. I don’t know whether any of them have issues with bicycle seats! :chuckle:

Several of the doctors I contacted hold professorships and international degrees and are on the boards of state recognised regulatory bodies. Some of them have undertaken research on an ongoing basis and deliver their findings internationally on a regular basis.

Phalloplasty surgery is a mine-field of misinformation and contradictory opinions. Sometimes I get the feeling that, some at least, make a very handsome living simply from repairing each other’s mistakes.

Great. Didn’t want it to be only snippers. I really doubt that any of them reply though. You never know, one might look in to the forums and get the urge to post. Hell, if he does, we could even let one of the moderators screen questions to him, if it would help. I know the guy would get bombarded immediately.

So, if you are there Doc, how about it??

Good news!

Dr Stephen Giunta has accepted our invitation to visit the forum! :) Dr Giunta is not a urologist, however he is a prominent plastic surgeon who specializes in phalloplasty (penis enlargement surgery). He uses a unique lazer procedure which has proved to be very successful. I believe (I may be wrong on this - I’ll need to check the thread again!) that he was also the doctor who performed surgery on one of the members of PE Forums - see the "I had surgery" thread. It was successful and the recipient was very happy with the results. Dr Giunta has a web site where you can find more information and check out his impressive handiwork!

Here is a copy of his letter ……..

Dear Mr. (My name :) ):

Thank you for your inquiry._ I am an Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon and not a Urologist, but I would be honored to join your forum._ Please review my website at https://www.drgiunta.com.

In answer to your question, I feel the bending of the erect penis is dangerous and should be avoided.

Feel free to contact me by email or through the office at 703-845-7400._ I am available most afternoons for phone calls.

Yours truly,

Stephen X. Giunta, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Re: Giunta

Well, that was sure positive.

T wrote: “What was the name of that uro that started all the uproar about bicycle seats causing ED??”

The narrow ones can, by causing nerve trauma. The usual first symptom is numbness or lack of sensitivity in any of various areas of the penis often followed by ED.

Fortunately every guy who rides doesn’t experience this.

That sure is good news.

Do we have a list of questions yet for someone like him? I’m concerned he may only have time to drop in for a short visit.

Here’s one:

1) Discoloration caused by PE. What causes it? How can we prevent it? Will it go away? What can be done to speed its removal?

Fortunately(?), Dr Goldstein is not one of the Uro’s I emailed.

Nearly half of the emails sent out have been replied to now - this is a much better result than I had hoped for. Let’s hope that some of the remaining ones will follow the lead of Dr Giunta.

That was an excellent idea lilbig, however I agree with thunder that doctors who perform enlargement surgery should not be included. They have a vested interest in surgery and it will probably be hard to get an unbiased opinion.
From what I understand, surgery although ocassionally successful, is very risky and often really screws up mens lives. The lengthening procedure usually results in the penis no longer “standing up,” as cutting the suspensory ligament allows the penis to hang straight down when erect. Also according to Dr. Whiteheads site, the penis cannot be really enlarged in the erect state girthwise, although Dr. Whitehead is now performing a procedure which supposedly does this. It is new however, he is the only one that does it, and the dangers are unkown (as stated on his site.) Although these doctors are no doubt certified urologists and plastic surgeons, actual phalloplasty surgery is still considered experimental by the main official american urological governing body (I forget the name of it).

Hey bogava!

My main reason for including phalloplasty surgeons was because they also see injuries as well as just men who want a little extra. This may give us an insight into other areas. I agree that there may be a vested interest in some doctors to advocate surgery but we all may be able to learn more from the experience of these doctors. It is very difficult to discern what works and what doesn’t when there are so many contradictory opinions by the doctors - the best we can do is listen to them all and form our own informed opinions. There are many different techniques as well which can make an enormous difference in phalloplasty surgery. Some doctors completely sever the ligaments, some partially re-attach them at a lower point and other’s only sever some of the ligaments. Some surgeons make a lateral incision, others use a “V”, “Y” or “Z” incision. All of these facts and a host of others will affect the final result. Not all phalloplasties end with an erection that points to the floor!

Yes, phalloplasty surgery is still regarded as experimental by mainstream medicine and no doubt there are even urologists who frown on the practice.

Lilbig,

Good point. Considering their interest in the enlargement of the penis, it may be possible that they have come across injuries from natural PE before. I must admit that I do not have a great knowledge base on phalloplasty, but in general what I have read has not sounded particularly promising.

Old thread, I know. But have any of these experts actually joined or posted anything on the forum?

I would be a little surprised if any Urologist went on the record on this forum.

Regardless of the success that has been demonstrated by the membership and the rigor applied, there is very little significant clinical study to fall back on.

Stating an opinion on this site (or any PE site) would only represent a significant legal liability for a urologist.

That said, I would be really pleased to have a few of them sign up anonymously and weigh in with their opinions … it would be incredibly valuable … but i won’t hold my breath
