Well, I just got back from a 9 day vacation. Although I had a great time, I experienced a little frustration due to a lack of PEing (my wife doesn’t know that I PE and that’s a whole nother subject!). I stretched every day in the shower, but that’s just not the same as a good hanging or jelqing session. It is also amazing how this forum flies by when one is not able to log on. Anyhow, I thought that everyone might have some thought about PE and vacations. I dealt with it by rationalizing that I was giving old Pokey a good rest. Well, it’s good to be back in the swing again! Hello to everybody!

I think your absolutely right. Even though is sucks to not be able to PE for a while a good rest does your unit good. I think the key is PEing hard before and after your time off.

I recently took a 10 day break from PE because of a 3 month plateau. I’ve been back into it for about 2 weeks now and I’ve had some excelent hanging sessions. The best part is that I have broken my plateau. I measured last week and had a stong 1/8”+ gain since my plateau!!!

I think there is a lot of merit of how rest works with PE. Now if I could only figure out what is right for me???

Hey Goodwood,

I’m glad to hear that you got back into the swing of things after taking a break. I think that interruptions will always be a part of PE, but keeping at it is the key. I’ve been reading posts from other members who lamented about taking time off, so we’re not the only ones.

Goodwoods experience has been reconfirmed many times by many different people. A rest will often get you more gains when you resume than if you were able to pe through the period in question.

Lamaru’s “My Dick is Shrinking” thread made me think about this a bit, too. I sometimes wonder if PE has an odd effect on the dick after while. Namely, a reaction by the body that is more or less geared toward protecting it’s most valued organ. Most valued in the “passing on of genetic material” sense of importance, anyway. Seems like the cock can resist almost to the point of retraction when pulled on/stressed enough. Maybe a temporary toughening or other physiological change to eliminate being pulled off or disconnected. We always assume that because we want something and try for it, result is inevitable. Perhaps our biological/physical self has a certain bio(logical?) disconnect and a bit different agenda in this case. I can’t think of a good analogy to this right now. Callouses are just too different and to the best of my knowledge, there is no Golgi type organ in this area of the body. I have noticed temporary “shrinkage” in length after hanging heavy and I think it was more than just a half-assed erection that I was measuring. Wondered about this for a while, but never really got into researching it or trying to find good analogous situations which may explain it in med lit. There does seem to be something to this for some folks and it appears to mainly effect length. Maybe some big gainers don’t have as much of this resistance reaction and can make more consistant gains/effective stretches without interption/interference via resistance. Almost as if this possible body reaction has to be defeated or worked around to get consistant gains. Rest appears to work, but I have wondered if there is some intentional mindset/relaxation technique that could also effect this. Hubbard had a poll about this in the poll forum one time and it didn’t really occur to me then, but it might have an effect in this way. I’ve always snickered at the “Taoist” warm-up and all the auto-biostimulation stuff out there, but in some small way I do wondered if all this hocus pocus shit has a shred of utility. Specifically, to defeat the bodies natural reaction to resist the very unnatural stretching of a (reproductively) vital organ. Still think alot is over-mystified on that issue, but if one could simply get into deep relaxation without the “4 cassettes or CD’s for $89.95” and all the silly Taoist penis twirling notions that accompany this type of technique, it might have some utility…assuming this type of reaction is real and exists. In essence, a good half hour of pre-PE meditation could be worth a week of rest or something to that nature. I could be fuckedinthehead on this one, if ya think so tell me…I won’t get mad. In fact, folks don’t tell me that enough these days and I’m beginning to fear losing my sense of true self. groa

Gains after rest

Another real possibility of gains after rest is the fact that after a month, say, of no PE you get back into it with renewed vigor and motivation. Thus after another month you have been PEing constantly and WELL, and this is beyond doubt very beneficial.
