Varicocele and erection problems

I have a variocele (is that correct, “A varicocele”?) on my left testicle. I’ve noticed that it gets bigger when I kegel, actually it gets bigger when I PE, but I think it’s the kegels that makes it bigger. I will go to the doctor with it, I just haven’t gotten around to do it.

But my question is, do you think it can sort of “steal” blood from the penis and make you not have the rock hard erections you’re supposed to have? I get as hard as I think I possibly can from time to time, depends how horny I am, sleep, etc etc. I was just thinking.

You should have it looked at. Unattended, a varicocele can negatively affect your fertility and it might become very painful for you.

No. The blood supply to the testicles is quite separate from the blood supply to the penis and erectile chambers.

If you’ve ever had a hard blow to your testicles you know the pain is not in the scrotum, but in your abdomen. The testes are formed in the abdomen and descend into the scrotum before birth. Their blood supply originates in the abdomen. The blood supply of the penis is from arteries in the pelvis.

Besides all that, the volume of blood in the enlarged veins of a varicocele isn’t much compared to the capacity of the corpora cavernosa. And, being a problem with veins, there wouldn’t be any way for it to steal blood from the penis anyway which is based on arterial flow.

Go and have it removed. That’s what I did. It’s only an hour surgery. I know for one thing my back stopped hurting.

Ah, the ‘bag of worms’ beneath old leftie. I’ve had it for years without negative side effects. But they do suggest getting it removed if you have low sperm counts.

They haven’t that I can recall. I’m an old married man now, and back in my dating days I reckon I was concerned only with their reaction to my stubby unit. Plus the veins more or less drain and disappear when you’re lying down, which is where I’ve always conducted the majority of business. I’m lazy and old fashioned that way. Anyway the testicles work fine even with the varicocele—2 kids.

Yeah. I use to have lower back pains and no one could figure out why.I went to a urologist and he felt the bag of worms and said that I needed them removed. Haven’t had the problem since.
