What am I doing wrong?

What am I doing wrong?

My corona hurts. And not in the “Wow that was a good workout!” kind of hurt. More like the “Ow, I hurt myself” kind of hurt.

I think it is because I have to squeeze my penis hard in order to get a good stretch. I use baby powder when I stretch and I grip about a half inch below the head to make sure I don’t put too much pressure on the head. But in order to get a good stretch I still have to squeeze hard. I have tried a lighter grip but wasn’t able to get a good stretch.

It happened over time - I didn’t get over zealous one day and yank too hard and hurt myself. It started as a light soreness and progressively got worse. I took last week off to let it go away and that worked. I did my routine for the past two days and the soreness is back. It is not unbearable but it is uncomfortable.

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Is there anything I can do to avoid it? Does anyone have stretching technique tips they can share? Would JAI stretches help - they seem to be lower impact. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

You do not have to squeeze your penis to get a good stretch. Take some time off start back slow. When your stretching your penis even a slight stretch is doing more than you think. Just be persistant and take it slow you will see results over time.

All you have to feel is pressure or a stretchy feeling in your penis and that is enough.

I had a similar thing starting back hanging after a decon break. Are you trapping blood in the head when you stretch? Do you jelq?

If you don’t jelq, and you’re starting back from a break (and if you’re trapping blood in the head) it could be because you’re unit has become deconditioned, and is having trouble coping with the pressure.

I also had pain in my corona similar to a nettle sting which was basically the beginning of a thrombosis. Do you practice any kind of PE that restricts bloodflow?

There might be a possibility of some nerve damage.

To make a long story short I have only been doing PE since Feb. 1, 2007, even though I have been a member since 2005. I tried PE for a couple weeks when I first joined, but didn’t stick with it. I am now consistent with my workouts and have dedicated the necessary time to PE. So no decon break for me, I am essentially a newbie.

I try to squeeze all of the blood out of the head when I stretch. Some blood probably does get trapped though. Is there any way to avoid this?

I am on the newbie routine. Warmup, stretch, jelq, kegel, warmdown.

I do jelq, but I am a newbie, so I have not been conditioned to begin with. Maybe it is the pressure.

Stretching and jelqing are the only exercises I do at the moment. If they don’t restrict bloodflow, then the answer is no. What are the chances this is a thrombosis? I wouldn’t know what one feels like. Where would the thrombosis be, since there are no visible veins in the head / corona?

That doesn’t sound good. What can I do to avoid that?

1stresponse and Okish - I will try a lighter stretch and let you know how that works.

I have very limited experience of both jelqing and the newbie routine. I started with a Penimaster and then went straight to hanging (and I’ve never really jelqed), so I can’t really advise you on jelqing (or the newbie routine). Maybe one of the other members can.

It might be possible that you’re experiencing the pain because you’re just starting, and your penis isn’t used to the stresses. You might just need time to get used to the exercises. Also— the pain in your corona might very well be due to the jelqing and not the stretches (The pain I was experiencing was due to the pressure of the blood under the hanger. I’ve got used to it now, but when I first started after the decon break it was pretty bad. Kind of a stinging sensation). It might be a good idea to jelq a little more gently, and slowly build up the pressure over time, so that your penis can get used to the pressure (it might also be a good idea for you to take a few days or a week off to let things heal).

Since you’re still using the newbie routine, it’s probably not nerve damage, but you should still take care not to injure yourself, especially the nerves. There are two nerves that run along the top of the shaft (the dorsal nerves) and there’s a bundle of nerves just behind the head. You have to take care not to damage either the dorsal nerves or that nerve bundle. If you’re using a power jelq device it’s best to stop the stroke before you reach that bundle of nerves, otherwise it could cause problems.

Also— are you working from memory, or did you read all of the instructions again before starting? If the last time you read the instructions was when you joined two years ago, read the instructions again so that you know you’re doing it all properly. If you do it wrong it might cause you problems.

Unfortunately I can’t give you more specific advice because I don’t have experience of Jelqing or the newbie routine. Hopefully another member can give you some more specific advice.

Stick with the newby routine for now, but take it easy.
