What's the best heat for IR lamps ?

100w, 150w or 250w?

I plan to buy a 100w one because it’s cheaper but I wonder if it will be good enough.

My dome says to run 250 for safety of explosion. I also have the 15%-30% hotter dome so…

I got the 200w lamp, seems to do the trick. I must move further away from it if it gets too hot…

The 100w should be fine. I think the only thing that will differ is the distance you will have to be from the bulb and possibly a few extra cents saved on your power bill.

Haven’t tried 100W, only 150 which is the stock bulb’s wattage in my therapeutic IR-lamp. Any closer than 12-13” distance it’ll burn skin.

250W are used for heating up chicken farms.

Do IR lamps cause tanning of skin or do they not produce much UV? Just curious. My dick is already dark enough

Ok, I’ve found and bought a 150w IR lamp on Ebay that you can fix on a wall or a table. Which it’s fine for the way I’ll use it. :D

I just need to find how to use it through a routine.

So if anyone could advise me ?

I could use a few suggestions on where to find a good, safe, user-friendly IR lamp. It seems like all the ones I find online are designed for giving pet reptiles heat and/or look like they would be very easy to burn oneself with. Id like to find one that looks safe and easy to position and mount in different ways. I live in metro area where there are no Walmarts. The Philips HP3 or whatever that the initial poster in thread is considering looks quite nice but I can’t find it sold in the USA. Any advice? Oh and Id like to keep it under $50 or so if possible.

Go to Walmart. <$20.00 you can also choose between 2 different domes and bulbs. The one specifies 250 watt bulb to minimize fire hazard. I don’t know what the other dome (the one with less heat) is spec’d as.

The closest Walmart is about 45m away from me (I live in city). That would mean the total trip would take a couple hours plus parking, gas, sales tax etc. I’ll do it if I have to but I would prefer to see some options I could just order online and have show up on doorstep. I would think somewhere online there is a much better selection than Walmart anyway but I just don’t know where it is. Any suggestions?

Hmm, I see your point. Why not just order from them online? I don’t know of any other places beside places like those superstores. :google: That’s the cheapest place I found.
