Whats the difference between clamping and using a C ring?

Hi all,

What’s the difference between clamping and using a C ring? Isn’t it essentially the same thing? I bought a cable clamp but haven’t used it yet. I currently use an air pump, and usually put the C ring on after my last session for about 30 minutes. Would there be any advantage in using a clamp?

The clamp provides a much more intense constriction if necessary.

I have not tried clamping myself, but I have heard more than one horror story related to it. Many members have done it safely for years, but my recommendation would be not to attempt clamping until you are more experienced with PE. Perhaps I am overly conservative on the topic, but I’ve read about enough injuries through over-aggressive clamping to make me hesitant.

It’s something for the very advanced, that’s for sure.

How much time do you recommend spending in PE prior to attempting? I’ve been engaging since mid April of this year, so 5 months.

Try manual clamping and see how you tolerate it.

Personally, I would wait until a year, and even then, only if I felt like I had an understanding of my penis and how it reacts to different stresses and strains, so I can adjust quickly enough to avoid injury.

Whenever you constrict blood flow, you create a potential for oxygen starvation, which leads to tissue death. That is a possibility with clamping, especially with mechanical clamps that can become stuck and you can’t instantly remove them. Of course you can (and many do successfully) mitigate the risks, but the number one factor is how well you understand your unique physiology.

I would definitely (When the time comes) begin experimenting with manual clamping (erect squeezes).
When your hand is doing the clamping, you can instantly increase, reduce, or completely remove the constriction (and induced internal pressure).

Most cock rings do not apply enough tensions to compete with a clamp. However, Osbon tension bands are very tight and are close to the tension applied by a clamp. I have used both clamp and Osbon tension bands and find them very similar. As far as tension is concerned, they are similar; however, an Osbon fits tightly against the fat pad so it allows the full length of your erection to be used during sex.

Erection level will tell their differences.

On clamping, the idea is to constrict and then reach maximum erection. With the outflow partially blocked, blood pools up and girth temporary increases. A cable clamp is prefered because of their quick release function and the ability to apply more pressure as you click, not possible with a standart cock ring.

Usually cock rings are being used to keep the post-routine temporary expansion, as an ADS or passive-PE if you will, kind of tool.

As far as comparing the two…just a thought..is clamping during sex a bad idea?lol

Clamping kind of scares me a bit, but I do use a cock ring occasionally, sometimes while pumping to get a more intense pump of the penis. I do have to check it more often due to it turning purplish at times. When that happens I take off the ring, get it back to normal color, put the ring back on, pump, and repeat.

It is. Intercourse naturally twist and/or bend the penis, things we should avoid while clamping.

Both clamping and C-rings are great for girth. Clamping is for the advanced PE’ers because it can deliver a lot more pressure but has a greater potential for harm. C-rings are a bit more forgiving since they usually can’t deliver as much pressure. If you’re a newbie like me, I think the smart way to approach it is to edge with a C-ring to build up tolerance and conditioning to the pressure and then eventually switch to clamping. I actually just ordered a pack of C-rings from eBay so I can edge as a supplement to using my extender.
