There’s a huge reason. You want a frame of reference.. One that’s going to be reliable across many/ all people using the forum. If you have overweight/ fat people doing lightly pressed measurements, you’re going to get a number much different from what a near anorexic/ or ultra lean person will get—even if their penis’s were the exact same size, perhaps you could get a measurement as much as 1-2 inches off. That’s why it’s important to specify whether you’re using a bone pressed/ or light press / touch measurement.
Perhaps you’re familiar with things such as accurate data collection in the realm of statistics. You can’t create numbers/ averages/ standard deviations/ norms if your sample is corrupt/ inaccurate. I’m sure people would like to use some of the numbers submitted to this forum. If they didn’t recommend a reliable/ accurate way of measuring, the data from the forum itself would be useless.
It’s best if everyone uses the same norms when measuring—if you’re going to share that information with others. This way you can create statistics/ or analysis and come to some kind of usable conclusion/comparison/ or analysis.
Why even post any measurement at all if you’re not going to do it in a way that makes it comparable with other measurements? I think the information becomes much more valuable when you know it’s accurate/ at least done each time with the same methodology, this way you can avoid incorrect conclusions.
