When you strap in and extend you can push down on the top (pushing the head down towards the base) and there is an “elasticity” and you’ll feel the top of the extender (the head) push back up like a spring (the traction).

Sometimes i extend to a point where it no longer does that it’s just solid. No pushing down or elasticity. Does this mean the traction isn’t working?

If you have extended the rods to their maximum length and have compressed the springs then there would be no movement in the rods. If this is occurring with your extender I would think that your springs are weak or under strength and need to be replaced.

You’re just extending with more tension than your springs can exert.
There’s nothing intrinsically wrong with that. I suppose you could be a bit more at risk for injury if you moved the wrong way or something, but if you’re able to pull that strong you must have a reasonable amount of experience already.

Edit: Unless you mean that your penis stretches out so far that the extender isn’t pulling anymore. In that case, your want to adjust it longer to maintain good tension. I, myself usually have to adjust a good 3/4” during every session to keep the tension up.

Sketch ; when the extender does what you describe, how many lines ( lines showing traction force) is visible ? If no lines are visible, you just maxed out the traction of the extender, and it will be like you described. Then the only way out is to get som more parts for the rods, and put together a longer extender, and strap in. Be happy then, you’ve probably gained.
