VacExtender vacuum cone

I recently purchased the VacExtender 4 and noticed that the vacuum cone is very sticky and has a noticable odor.

I left the vacuum cone sitting on a cardboard box, and about an hour later I noticed a wet spot on the cardboard.

Is this normal? I’m worried that this is also leaching onto my penis.

For reference, this is the part I’m referring too.

I have been using one for a couple of months and I think this is normal. After a few washes in a mild soap solution it gets less sticky. I haven’t had any problems so far.
