Any experienced Bib hangers out there?

Hey guys,

I’ve been hanging for a year with some breaks throughout for setbacks. I’ve had some decent success with close to 3/4 of an inch gain in length. I’ve been having a recurring problem though that I can’t seem to manage. I’ve consulted Bib himself on this issue, but still haven’t been able to figure it out. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and found a solution.

The problem: After hanging a set or two (my top weight right now is 21 pounds), I develop edema on the top of the shaft between the glans and the wrap. This will progressively get worse as more sets are hung. I’ve tried just about every permutation of wrap, wrap tightness, wrap thickness, bolt settings, getting all of the blood out of the shaft and head, etcetera and can’t seem to figure it out. It’s really annoying and I’m almost to the point of giving up. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your help.

Awesome gains! I’ve hung on and off and never got up to 21 pounds or had fluid buildup so unfortunately I’m no help with your issue.

As someone who has a love, hate relationship with hanging, would mind giving some info on your routine?

Try to wrap closer to the base. I know bib advises that closer to the base would be for skin stretching only, but some members here have hung this way for lig stretch and have been successful this way.

In this case maybe you’ll have to change the bolts setup to a toe out layout (wider near the glans) in order to grasp tighter near the base.

Thank you. I try to hang for twenty minute sessions, and shoot for 5-6 sets/day, less on the weekends. Haven’t been hitting those numbers lately thanks to the fluid buildup/slippage I’ve been experiencing. I try to hang heavy in the first set so that I reach fatigue right away. I usually have to drop weight every set.

I’m wrapping with sweatshirt material and Theraband at the moment.

Thank you sir. Funny, I just started trying a toe-out setting yesterday, but still close to the glans. I’ll give a closer-to-the-base attachment point a try.

how’s it working for you?

I experience edema quite often after 3 or 4 sets. It used to be more of a problem for me, which I’ll explain, but after growing and learning a bit, I’ve found ways to minimize the problem and get to a point where I get the job done and get 5 or 6 sets in a day. One trick (if you have the time) is to unwrap and take a 10 or 15 minute break to let it subside. Bib advocates wrapping once and staying that way, which can be a problem if swelling under the skin is an issue.

Other people’s mileage may vary, but I believe edema is more of a problem if you have a small or varied flaccid hang. This, regardless of how well you wrap, because it makes smaller guys have to tighten the hanger down more (due to less meat bunching in front) which leaves more skin between the glans and hanger. More skin, plus increased pressure due to less blood flow, and you have a great recipe for swelling.

I’ve come to this conclusion after years of hanging experience:

I started out very much a turtled-grower with around 1.5 inches of flaccid and not much girth, and constant swelling in the skin in front of the glans while hanging (had to overtighten all the time to avoid glans pain). Over time my flaccid has become longer and girthier with around 3.5” length (7” when I pull it out and wrap), and girth quite close to what I am erect (though never measured).

This larger flaccid is only the case when it’s been a few hours since hanging or sex/masturbation. Trauma from the hanging session or sex does often make me shrink up (length and girth) for a while. This then leads to problems getting the shoulders right in the hanger, and more skin bunching in front because I have to tighten it more because I have less meat to grab. The tightening part is key, since when my flaccid is girthier, I don’t have to tighten very much at all, and only a bit of skin sits in front of the hanger (BTW: I hang with 15 - 18 pounds, so definitely not hanging a feather from my dink!)

So, on my first set or two of the day, my flaccid is pretty much semi erect proportions, whereas the trauma from hanging makes me get skinnier and more retracted as the sets go on. This also happens for an hour or so after sex/masturbation, then my flaccid starts to swell up to what I now consider as “normal”. When I’m turtled, I have to plump my penis up in order to have a successful hang with no pain and minimal edema.

In a nutshell, I think edema is more of an issue with flaccid girth leading to skin bunching and over-tightening issues. A lot of the complaints I seem to read involve guys who claim to have a small flaccid, or from uncut guys who don’t follow or understand the instructionals for successful hanging from experienced uncut members.

Have you tried unwrapping and jelqing a bit between sets? I rarely find even pronounced edema stops me from doing a set and it always disappears within a few hours, even if some leftover redness remains for spell.

I gotta bib hanger and feel I got a good grasp on it. I will say I got a email from bib after it’s arrival, only to check to make sure it got here, I was satisfied and if I had questions. I thanked him for his concern and he replied encouraging me to ask if I had problems or questions and thanked me once again. What a Gentleman, rare in this day. Much respect was both given and received.

I noticed immediately adjustment is everything. I chose not to wrap at all and found it comfortable once adjusted. I did swing 20 pounds for two ten minute sets like this, and a couple 5-3 pound sets. It was intense at 20 pounds and I assumed the sumo wrestler pose more than once. Being a newb to this, I was told to knock it off and be patient, so I quit. I have three types of Theraband, tried sweatshirt material, whatever, but I prefer raw doggin’ it. I doubt I could wrap my dick in anything and have been successful, God knows I tried.

The first two or three attempts at hanging was spent understanding and adjusting this odd device, not hanging much. Just seconds to readjust and try again, after a lot of thought and fiddling though, I think it kicks ass and I could pull a car with my dick.

I made it to 7 3/8 inches BPEL. I’m okay with that. My wife (who is 5 foot 8 inches tall) says I hit her cervix in numerous positions, so I guess there’s really no sense in me pushing any further for length for any other reason than my ego. I may work on girth a little more down the road (at 5.25 MSEG right now), but I’m not sure.

Right! I thought about that too. I left it in a drawer, right next to a bottle of KY. Would have loved to see the look on the maid’s face.

Serious starting point: Nov. 2, 2009/BPEL 5.75 x 4.75 inches.

Current BPEL 7 1/2 x 5.5 inches.

Goal: BPEL 8 x 6 inches. Hell, if I hit 8, I'm going for 9!

Now that is interesting….I experienced the same thing. They say thicker is better for theraband, perhaps for long life, but to pull a strip of that shit around your dick while flaccid and get it to stay to me is like flying or levitating, amusing in thought, but not possible. Had I not adjusted this thing enough to be comfy bare back, I would try your approach. Good advice I think for some of us.

I did the same with the cloth followed by theraband with a piece of tape and it was just a pain in the ass to get it to stay. It added more time to an already time consuming exercise. So I tried the self adhering tape and never looked back…..until hanging drove me to want to hang myself lol
