Every now and again stories come along of guys who have made fantastic gains from manual stretching. These guys nearly always seem to stretch whenever they get the opportunity, often doing over 5 stretching sessions per day. Because manual stretching and jelqing are usually combined in routines, they are often treated as the same in terms of frequency. Yet I suspect to get the most benefit out of stretching and jelqing, each exercise needs an entirely different timetable. With jelqing it seems that often less and more and that rest days are almost a requirement. Yet with stretching, more is more and rest days are the enemy. If I’m honest, I’d like to remove jelqing from the newbie routine. I know it is seen as the core exercise in all PE, but I think it’s the worst erecise and feel it’s only so widely accpeted as it was sold as a secret technique in the back of magazine before the internet. It’s almost as if jelqing is PE and other exercise are just extras. It works, but I’m not at all convinced it’s any safer than gradual pumping and manual clamping. In fact when I look at the injuries thread, most serios injuires (ie ED and leaks etc) seem to be casued by jelqing.
