Dash is correct. The only thing you have to worry about is friction. The thing is, use the weight that is correct for you at any certain angle, at a certain time. Even if there are friction losses, they should be constant.

OTS, I cut out a piece of 6 inch PVC pipe, about a half moon to put over the back of my office chair. I ground channels in it in order to hold the rope. It is about 1/4-3/8 inch thick. There was some friction, but by working the abs, you can get almost any amount of stress you want.
