I Went Straight to Hanging (Skipped the noob routine) Do I need Manual Exercises?

I Went Straight to Hanging (Skipped the Nubie Routine) Do I need Manual Exercises?

I was using a penimaster and have only just got a Bibhanger.

I skipped the newbie routine entirely, believing that the penimaster would give me the gains I was interested in.

Now I’m hanging 5lbs BTC for just over an hour every day (it’s my first week hanging)

My question is, should I start the newbie routine alongside my hanging or can I skip the manual stretches because I’m already hanging?

What exercises are the best to do alongside hanging so as to reach my goals?

(I’m currently 6.5 NBPEL (5 Girth) and want to get to at least 8 NBPEL)

I suggest doing a manual routine, such as the newbie routine, for a few months before hanging. It would give your penis time to condition and you’d learn more about how you respond to PE. A simple manual program is enough to get any easy “newbie gains” that may be in store for you.

However, a few guys have started PE by going straight to hanging. Lil12big1 is one example. Just be very careful and don’t move up in weight or duration too quickly.

I think it’s best to not use other PE techniques while hanging. I’ve had problems from adding things. Your veins are stressed enough from hanging. Adding intense jelqing, squeezing, pumping or whatever else may be the final straw. A few jelq strokes between sets or a few minutes of easy jelqing after a hanging session are good for restoring blood flow and shouldn’t hurt anything.

If I were you I’d shelve the Bib for now. Get what you can out of a simple manual routine while you read about hanging.

Thanks hobby, I’ll check out the newbie routine and see what gains I can achieve.

BE, my suggestion would be go directly to the hanging routine, skipping nooob. Try to get up to 4@20min sets/day adding 2.5# each week. So after 2months you will be at 22.5# which should/will give you excellent results at say 10hrs/week. By all means use the bib original for weights above 12.5#; the small one requires far too much pressure on cock. Perhaps don’t set your sights above 8” length however IMO.

bud_do, thanks

I took a look at the newbie routine but I ended up sticking with hanging after reading some of Bib’s PE history in the newbie forum.

Your advice is much appreciated as I was wondering at what rate I should increase my weight.

At the moment I’m using water-filled bottles but they’re a little cumbersome and not too accurate (I’ve been weighing them 500 grams at a time with a small postal scale.)

At the moment I’m aiming for 40hrs a week hang-time, modelling Bib’s routine. Today I did just over six and a half hours at 5lbs BTC (at various angles regulated via the Bibhanger skids))

I want to get a g-clamp for my desk so that I can rig up some kind of fulcrum for SO hanging— sitting with my legs in the air all day is pretty strenuous. I’m not sure how vital BTC is for lig gains, but it just seems impractical for extended hanging sessions.

Hey Beaver,

Be careful man, hanging is dangerous stuff when your dick isn’t conditioned to the stress it applies. I’ve seen lots of guys who jump into hanging too early and injury themselves. If you’re absolutely determined to go directly to hanging, then I would recommend keeping the weight low, and for longer amounts of time; maybe 3 or 4 weeks at each weight level. And get yourself some real weights so that you know exactly how much you’re hanging. You’ll only ever have one dick man, don’t be too much of an eager beaver and fuck it up. :)

Also, Bigger (Bib) is an extreme example of a hanger. Check out this thread to see how others get better results at lower weights: Most Effective Weight to Hang; Clarifying Bib’s History. It sounds like you have the time available to commit to this, so you should slow down and do it right. Good luck and have fun!

Stevie, thanks. I’ll read through those threads right now.

Also, thanks for the warning— at first I was a little worried that I might be hanging too much. The first day I hung I hung 4 sets at 5lbs for 20 minutes each set with the ten minute break, and a little while after I’d finished the sets my ligs began to sting.

The next day I hung with the same weight intending to reduce the weight for the third and fourth sets but it felt okay so I just kept hanging at 5lbs.

I have to say (incase anyone reading this is thinking of jumping straight into hanging) that I have been using a Penimaster for the last eight months, which has conditioned my cock a little already. I’ve ‘power jelqed’ for a couple of months also. It was because I kind of believed all of the Penimaster hype that I skipped the newbie routine to begin with— I was wondering if, now that I’m hanging, whether there are manual exercises I should be doing also.

The most worrying thing I’ve experienced is the nerves running up to the head of my cock stinging when I switch into my penimaster, basically because I screwed it out as far as I could get it to go for the extra stretch which I definitely do not recommend— the Penimaster’s fastening belt can really dig into the dorsal nerves if tightened beyond the recommended limit.

With regards the hanging I will be looking more closely at my routine.

Once again Stevie, thanks for the link, I’ll check it out right away :)

You decided to skip the (highly recommended) newbie workouts, and go directly into hanging? Then, only 10 days into your hanging career, and you’re doing 6.5 hours per day?

I’ll be keeping my eye out for you in the Injury Forum.

But I’m curious, what’s the point of asking for advice, then ignoring it? Two moderators, with 7,500 posts between them, told you the best route. But then you jumped into that reckless approach you’re taking.

I’ll let you in on a little secret… you are NOT “rushing your gains.” You are “rushing” the conditioning, the toughening of your unit - which can actually hurt gains (strengthening, not lengthening your penis). That’s exactly why hobby told you to go to the newbie routine and get whatever newbie gains you can manage, then move up the ladder of intensity.

Why waste hanging on newbie gains - which can be gotten on almost any type of routine? What can you possibly do for an encore, after getting your newbie gains from 40 hours of hanging per week? Bungee jump from your penis?

Take care.

If hobby (or anyone for that matter) had told me it could hurt my gains then of course I would have reverted to the newbie routine.

Maybe it might help to add that little detail to the wiki or at least one of the advice threads.

Would there be other PE secrets you’d care to let me in on while you’re about it?

Anyway, thank you for your help & I wish you luck with your anger management issues (nice attitude).

P.S. Does eight months of Penimaster count for anything with regards to conditioning?

The wiki is a condensed intro, really. In case you haven’t notice, the 1/2 million posts are over here. Lots of “secrets” to be found therein.

Honestly not “angry” in my post to whatsoever. Incredulous perhaps, but not angry. The most pronounced “attitude” is in your needless sarcasm.

I honestly don’t know because I have no experience with a traction device. I would suspect that it must’ve given you some conditioning, but as there is no type of impaction stresses (such as jelqs) involved with PM, I’m not sure that the level of conditioning would’ve been the same as a few months on a newbie program.

Also, to my understanding, those traction devices operate on relatively low tension, employing a great deal of time. No doubt, the 5 lbs you used for hanging (which jumped up 6.5 hrs per day in a mere week & a half), was probably at least double the tension your PM provided you for 8 months.

I have noticed, and most of the threads seem to contain conflicting information. That coupled with the notion of there being no difinitive answer has caused me to skim and scan and look past a lot of the information, including advise to the effect that forcing gains doesn’t help growth. Even the Penimaster manual states this but I’ve still overlooked it because no explinations have been given. I just figured it was to prevent injury through overenthusiastic PE. Had I know a ‘softly softly’ approach actually promoted growth then I would have taken it a little easier. My attitude was to be aggressive and push it to the limit to get the fastest gains I possibly could.

(As a newbie seeking a more advanced routine to follow up my Penimaster usage there’s really nothing on this site that says “stop, slow down, here’s the reason why”. The site seems to assume that everyone starts from scratch. My reason for buying a Bibhanger was to combat the baseball-bat effect I was getting from the PowerJelq, and my reason for buying a PowerJelq was to combat the ‘reverse mushroom’ I was getting with the Penimaster. The whole reason I went the ‘devices route’ instead of the manual route was because I believed it would be more efficient.)

My apologies, I mistook your incredulity for anger and sarcasm and thought you were launching a personal attack on me. I responded in the best way I could.

((I was in a bar with an old friend one time and we were talking about people we used to know. This guy travels a lot and had just come back from Asia, so he’d been catching up on what’d been going on ‘in the burg’ so-to-speak. We’re sitting there talking and he tosses into the conversation that my old best friend is in an ICU having had a serious car accident. He tossed it into the conversation as though he was telling me he’d just scored a great new job. I was so incredulous that he’d be so insensitive that my reaction was taken for excitement. I was so upset I ended up just having to leave.))

According the the Penimaster manual its heaviest setting is 1.15Kg which works out to about 2.54lbs. I started off with short sets for about a total of an hour, but after linking to one of Bib’s progress threads and via the newbie forum and seeing what he was hanging for 40hrs a week I decided to try and get to heavy weights a.s.a.p. I had no idea it could actually slow my gains to do that. To be honest with you, I really don’t know what would be the right thing for me to do right now. I’m guessing the best thing would be to just ‘get with the program’ and start with the newbie routine. The thing is I’ve got time on my hands to hang right now and I don’t want to waste it if I could use it to accelerate my gains. All I need is another 1.5”
