Insightful: Try Try Again

When I was learning a language I as “so - so / mas o menos”…then I stopped for a while and after a few months I continued, not only did I remember most of the old stuff I also learned more…

Making music: play and play and play….I stopped playin for a while, and when I picked up my guitar it had a new feel, like I was starting over and I used it in a different way…

Well to make this long story straight, “Re-trying Goals, Helps You Understand More About Your Goal, Along With Teaching You New Methods”

Its been scientifically studied and I believe the conclusion was that people learn better when given certain time intervals in which to do the learning as opposed to going relatively straight through without any breaks. Often a difficult problem that I am working on does not appear to have a solution until I take a break out of sheer exhaustion and just relax—the answer then comes to me in the middle of the night and I wake up and write it down real quick. I keep a note pad next to my bed (night table) just for this purpose. Our minds work in mysterious ways and sometimes the common sense of just taking a break (even though we might not want to) will often give you the insight and re-newed outlook that you will need to tackle the problem.

Notepad by the bed is a very good idea. It is known that when sleeping your brain works on problems you had during the day. Many inventions came out of inventor’s dreams. “I’ll sleep on it” is a very good phrase to remember and practise
