If I’m making slight gains at a certain weight/time but I still want to move forward, is it a better idea to add time or weight for more workload. My guess would be time because I think I saw something about an optimal time being 1.5 hours based on experience. BTW, I’m doing 10/12.5 lb for 45 min 5 times per week and I’ve been hanging for about 3 weeks or so.

First, 10-12.5 lbs after three weeks is fairly bold.

Second, you should increase your number of sets slowly until you have reached your amount of available private hanging time. Then, you can begin to slowly increase the max amount of weight hung as needed to create fatigue.

I hope your 45 minutes of hang time is divided into three 15 minute sets.

Yeah I know it is bold. Thats part of the reason I’m thinking I should go for time instead of more weight. I’ll try to move up 15 min/week until I get to and hour and 15. I don’t think I really have time for much more in a day. BTW, I usually either hang 4 sets of 11 min or 3 sets of 15 min.

One more question: Bib, do you recommend splitting the time into 2 hanging sessions during the day or should I just do it all at once? For example 3 15 min sets early in the day and 3 15 min sets at night for a total of an 1.5 hours.

The question is; can you reach fatigue using a split schedule? If you can, I would recommend it, spreading out the traction throughout the day, keeping the tissues in an extended state for longer periods.

But if you cannot reach fatigue with split sessions, then I would not recommed it.

I really appreciate the kind words. There is something really special about helping a guy change his life with PE. Sometimes it is challenging, even opening Thunders, but in general, I do enjoy it.
