Roughly how long to gain an inch?

It seems obvious to me that another possibility is your prefered method of hanger attachment is causing just enough trama to induce this shortening.

My preferred method of hanging is a wooden AFB, with which I can hang 12 pounds comfortably with no wrapping.

I think we are going off topic.

I don’t think you can have a true average. Different people will dedicate a different amount of time per day and different amount of days per week.
Some people will move up in weight faster than others. We each have a different risk vs reward in regards to our goals. To have a true average you would have to have many people following a very similar routine.

What would really interest me is to have a database of many people’s PE progress with the amount of hours people put in vs the gains received. A huge database where we could see routines, angles, weights, time off, and other variables. Then we could see if there is any patterns.

At the most general level, I believe you will find the most gains are from the people that are the most dedicated. I know that sounds like common sense but I read to many posts where people put in almost no effort and then they are surprised that they aren’t getting any results.

I think there are statistical data about how much on average people gain in theirs first years(s?). There is no distinction between hangers and other PEers though.

Well there will always be an average. You take one person who does PE 16 hours a day and another person that does 10 minutes a day. Their results will probably be drastically different and it will average out to some result in between. It’s just when a person asks for how long to gain an inch, the answer can really vary widely. I have done PE on and off for 20 years and I had never gained until I became dedicated in just the last few months.

This is why, after causing inflammation, one needs to rest for weeks to months; it is during this time that hyperplasia, i.e. growth, takes place. Prior to that, inflammation causes contraction of tissues. In short, IPR happens.

Hey Tom, the AFB is so great, last week I made one with padding and test the quality of the hanger, I hang 20lbs for just 5 minutes (no wrap, just some padding on 2 wooden sides) with no slippage, no tension on my glans because the hanger form a plug and the plug it works like a padding between the hanger and the glans, I was so excited as hell because at the first time I saw your design on the classic site it looks like torture, but now, It works like a charm, It was so surprised. I know that the AFB can handle more than 20lbs because I saw you hung 30lbs in a video on the classic site, that was so brilliant, thank you Tom.

It’s possible. If you work from home, learn how to wrap and hang well, and can put in serious fucking hours, you might be able to do it. I wouldn’t count on it. Some people gain an inch in a year and some people never do. I know a lot of people say 1000 hours in an extender gets you an inch, for whatever that’s worth, which is easy doable in a year. Hanging should cut that down a good bit if done right. The thing you have to think about is injuries, though. If you rush it with something hardcore like hanging you can end up sidelined and take a lot longer than you already would have.
