Swinging weights for quicker length gains? Iron Crotch seems to think so!

I swing mine both back and forth and circularly while standing. I do not get carried away and maintain complete control at all times. I also use lighter weights, around 2.5 lbs when I am hanging. I just think it breaks the monotony of the moment. I also use hang time to cruise the forums. : )

I have always assumed everyone swung the weights around, both to distribute the tension/pressure to many different sections of tissue, but also to keep blood flow as acceptable as possible during the sessions?

I know when I decide on a hanger I will swing in all directions.


Current size: BPEL: 7.9" EG: 6.75"

Realistic goal: BPEL: 9.25" EG: 7.5"

Unrealistic surgical goal: 12" x 8.5" :)

I though that the idea behind Iron Crotch was to strengthen the penis to lift heaver weights. The kind of conditioning Iron Crotch seeks to achieve could make gains very difficult, so it might be unwise to get too deeply into Iron Crotch techniques.

That said, swinging does seem to slightly increase the stresses when using lighter weights and could have some benefit. It certainly feels like it works.

Take your time, pick a simple routine you can stick to, and be consistent in your efforts. Patience is the key.

I would NOT swing weights at all, it’s extremely dangerous.

You can’t control the momentum of the swing, in an instant the slightest pain or injury can be made worse because you aren’t in control of the weight.

Swinging weights just stretches your dick from different positions, you can easily replicate this by jelqing after a hanging session.

I haven’t taken formal lessons in this, but I’m pretty sure Iron Crotch is more about using the penis and balls as something like a “handle” from which to stretch and strengthen the internal organs. The primary goal is not toughening up the penis, though it does seem to result in balls of steel for some long-time practitioners…

Just a quick physics lesson, swinging increases the effective force applied to your dick. It’s the same thing as just putting on more weight, except for the obvious variation in angle.

For a given length of string, larger circles mean more tension in the string which means more tension on your unit.

With an swinging the weights your causing the tension to increase and decrease almost immediately. The increase stress does act as increased weight, but only for a few moments. Once the object is returned to it’s point of origin the increased tension is removed until the object is moved again past it’s resting position. Since swinging the weight doesn’t really allow the object to rest, then the additional tension is constantly changing. If the object is being moved in a circular motion then centrifugal force comes into play

I think hanging is great for several reasons. One is that you know exactly how much force you are applying. Swinging eliminates that. Don’t do it!

Swinging does work well as long as the motion is lift and fluid

Wow so I been doin this since I started hanging, but I only do it for the last 2 minutes of my set. In the entire set, it’s the only time that I really feel like I’m puttin work in, and I’m up to 12.5 lbs now. I felt like it would be dangerous, but I always start with small circular swings. Injury of course is very possible, but I don’t know, I think it just depends on the dick. There are plenty of people who have injured their dick just by jelqing, whereas some, like me, have gone years without any injury. I figure that since I’ve been swinging lightly since I started hanging last year, I’ll just continue. Always prepared for an injury though…


Goal: Any visible increase in size, so I can lay my doubts to rest.
