I’ll post the method I use to attach the vibration motor to the bib hanger in two posts. In this one, I’ll provide a list of the supplies you will need, describe the first couple of steps, and include some pictures. In the next one, I’ll describe the rest of the steps in assembly and a few more pictures.
Parts Needed
The first pic shows the parts you will need:
1) Vibration Motor. Mine is a 40w motor that weighs about 3 lbs. You can find it on Amazon for about $70. I added a switch to turn the motor on and off ($5) and a plug ($5).
2) regular Bib hanger.
3) piece of stiff plastic, 1” x 4”, about 40mil thick. You can cut a piece out of a cheap thin plastic flexible cutting board mat (Carrolar Cutting Board Mats on Amazon for $6)
4) 3m microfoam tape. Available on Amazon for about $5, this is the stuff that monkey bar recommends for fluid control tape when vacuum hanging.
5) 6” velcro strips, sticky on one side. Anything from 1/2” wide to 1” wide will be fine. $6 on Amazon
6) filament tape, 3/4” to 1” wide. Cost varies from $6 to $10 on Amazon.
Total cost is under $25 for items 3-6. You might have some of these things around already.
Step 1. (Next 2 pictures) Cover the plastic with microfoam tape on one side, making sure to cover the long sides of the plastic with tape.
Step 2. (Last 2 pictures) Attach velcro to the bib and the motor base.
